“Great Stay - 100% Satisfaction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2010

First, note that there there appears to be two listings for this hotel, also listed as 151 Farmers Market Road. We traveled during the peak October leaf viewing season. The parking lot appeared nearly full when we arrived at 6PM on a Sunday. We were told that all the standard rooms were gone, but that a larger suite was available for an additiional $14. We were very pleased. The larger room had a microwave and mini-fridge. The bathroom was spotless and there was no hint of bad odors. Sound insulation seemed fine. Cable TV reception was great. The indoor pool and spa provided a relaxing break during the evening. There is also an exercise room, which we did not partake of. Both wired and wireless internet are offered. The full morning breakfast was just that; eggs, bacon, sausage, juice, coffee/tea, bagels and sweet rolls. Be careful if you're traveling Labor Day or Memorial Day weekends when the town turns into a gigantic flea market when hotel rooms will be sold out many months in advance. This is probably the finest Comfort Inn we have ever stayed in.

Room was clean and air conditioner functioned well enough that it did n't wake me each time it came on. My grandson thought making a waffle and having bacon and fruit and juice was great for breakfast and I appreciated the variety provided. The attendant working in the breakfast area was friendly and kept the room clean and stocked.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn on the last night of a ten-day vacation. It is very convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway and I-81. Our room had two queen beds, hair dryer, coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave and high speed Internet access. It appeared that one of the beds did not have clean sheets – the top sheet was rather gray. We called downstairs to the front desk and asked if we could pick up a clean sheet. She sounded very concerned that our linen was not clean and had the new sheet ready for us as soon as we went downstairs. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. The hotel was full yet the staff kept the food stocked and even opened up the adjoining conference room so that guests could go there to eat. Breakfast items included hot and cold cereal, eggs, Canadian bacon/ham, biscuits (that needed to be warmed for a few seconds in the microwave), milk gravy, fruit, baked goods, hot coffee and tea, juice, freshly made Belgium waffles and milk. We did not use the pool but when we arrived in the evening there were many guests using it. There was also a small fitness room. Again, even though the hotel was full, we had a peaceful night of sleeping

Good area to stop over while traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway. Be sure to go see "Mayberry" while in the area at Mount Airy, VA.

It was just a one night stay for us Sept. 7-8th. First, free night on points that we have ever done. The hotel is right off the highway on our way down to Myrtle Beach. Restaurants are mostly fast food so we ate in the town before - wytheville. The pool at the comfort inn could have been a little cleaner. The hot tub was great. The room was kinda small, but clean. The King bed was way too soft and had small square pillows - thank god their were 4. Had micro/fridge which were handy. Had a nice surprise at check in - a goody bag with newspaper/bag of chips/cookies and a water. Would I stay again - for an overnight yes, but not for more than that as the bed was too soft.

This hotel is an above average hotel for a Comfort Inn. The location is easy to access off interstate 77 and there is a McDonalds across the street to grab a quick bite. The lobby is small and the room was nice and I had a good sleep and the hotel overall is very clean. I think the breakfest area was a little small but there is an additional area for you to eat and there was the usual selection to choose from. The service was very good and the lady at the front desk was very helpful. The only thing that I really did not like was that you could here people walking from the above floor. Like most Comfort Inns the walls are a bit thin as well. Overall it is a good stop especially if travelling between Toronto and Florida as Hillsville is a halfway point along the interstate 77.

The outside of this hotel looks new, however judging by the room we stayed in, it is a much older facility. More than likely the money was spent on the outside; much of what was inside was older. The location is convenient, right off the interstate. The room was spacious, however, very dirty. Loads of dust along baseboards, electrical outlets, corners of bathroom & bathroom vents. Alot of scuff marks & stains along the walls throughout the room. The sheets had to be changed because it did not look as though they had been changed from the previous occupants; there was a tennis shoe footprint on one of the pillow cases & what appeared to be blood on another. Something was crawling around within the bathroom light fixture. They are using the new low energy light bulbs which just made the already dreary atmosphere of the room worse.

The breakfast in the morning was adequate, however there is not enough tables & chairs to accommodate all of the travelers during the high summer travel season. So be prepared to stand & eat.

Staff was friendly & accommodating.
