“A Sweet Retreat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

My husband and I were scheduled to be in Reston for a marriage conference. When the hosting hotel had booked all of their special rate rooms, I immediately came to Trip Advisor to find the best alternate in the area.

I chose the Hampton Inn & Suites based on reviews and price. I was able to get a King Studio Suite for a better rate than the conference host hotel's special rate for a standard room. I was well pleased with the hotel from the cheery entrance to the clean and spacious room. The hotel was modern, clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a full complimentary breakfast each morning. Plus our stay was minutes away from the conference hotel located in the center of the shopping district. This Hampton Inn was true to the reviews.

What stood out for us was the service and staff. Although the room was clean, stocked and ready for our arrival, we were still asked was there anything else we needed. Every staff member greeted us each time we met in the halls and lobby.

One morning of our stay, the breakfast area was completely full with a tour bus group. The staff quickly accommodated everyone by opening a nearby meeting room for us to have our breakfast.

The only down point was that we could not get a late checkout. Because of that, we had to pack everything and take it with us at 7:30 am to the conference which was not scheduled to end until 12:30. But all in all, we enjoyed our stay will definitely consider Hampton Inn & Suites for future stays in other locations.

very comfortable and easy excess to Washington Toll Road. Five minutes away from Reston Town center which is great place to shop and stroll around. I found this hotel through online and did not expect much. The price is a bit expensive, I guess because I booked it very last minute

We stayed here for five nights and particularly the weekend nights were a great deal. The other nights were reasonable as well. Convenient to many stores and restaurants at the nearby Reston Town Center. The staff was attentive and friendly where ever they were encountered. The breakfast quality was adequate but what was impressive was that they changed each day. Not the average hotel breakfast that you grow tired of after two days. Only downfall was the pool hours during the week were limited to 5-10. Maybe not an issue, depending on your schedule. On the upside there was a lifeguard during those hours. Used trip advisor to find this hotel and was not disappointed. It will be an awesome location in a few years when the new metro line is completed and a stop is just a few blocks away. The afternoon cookies were delicious, we just didn't get to take advantage very often. Rooms were quite and though their were people next door on each side, we had no noise.

We stayed at the easter long weekend for cherry blossom, very upset about the flower but very happy with this hotel we chose. This hotel is very clean, inside room and public area. The breakfast has lots choice, well above my expectation. Pool is big enough for my son to do lane swimming and my daughter likes the fitness center also. Would definitely stay here if visiting DC again with family.

This has been the best stay I have had in any Hampton Inn. The place was beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful. The free shuttle service is a plus. We had a nice time in the indoor pool and breakfast was fantastic.

I lived in Herndon for two years and discovered this hotel when moving. It is in a very quiet area compared to the other nearby hotels. Off a parkway in an office area with little traffic. Very quiet. Weekday rates are high but average to this area. They drop dramatically on weekends.

My last stay in February was a one nighter and I was upgraded to a corner suite on fourth floor. It was a very nice size. The hotel is spotlessly clean. It is fairly new and very up to date in decor.

Bed and bathroom were great, breakfast was very good for the free buffet type. Large dining room.

Parking is tight and could present a problem on a full night. Hint, drop your bags first as you will have a bit of a walk.

Personnel professional, and accommodating. Don't expect friendliness, however. I recommend to anyone staying in the DC area. Straight shot to downtown and airport. Traffic to downtown during the week will be a problem during rush hour. Tourist should go into city late and leave late to make this economical and hassle free .

Room Tip: Corner rooms are larger

We stayed over the Easter holiday, visiting family in Herndon, and our queen suite was spacious and comfortable. The rate was reasonable for the area, and the free breakfast, while nothing fancy, was good. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the manager Mike Patel, who always seemed to be available.
One suggestion for improvement: Perhaps better timing of housekeeping services. We had the "do not disturb" sign on the door on Sunday morning, but went out for the day, so took the sign down around 10:30 a.m. The room had not been cleaned by the time we returned, even though it was after 4 p.m. A request for more towels at that point was immediately taken care of, and housekeeping did show up a few minutes after that, but it was pretty late in the day, so we declined.
Other than that, this is a terrific location just outside pricey Reston, and an easy drive to Washington, D.C. We will be back!
