“Nice hotel, just one thing was a bit off”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

We just returned from this hotel and I have to say it is in a quiet area, very nice and clean. The only thing I did not like was that the housekeeper did not make the sofa bed we were using. Also, the door to the room was a bit off track and you had to really use your muscle to open/close. We found the door unlocked when we returned to hotel the one night and it was b/c housecleaning did not make sure it was locked. I don't like to be picky, but I do not want the door to my hotel room left unlocked/ajar. Otherwise, it is a good, clean very nice hotel. The breakfast was good, just make sure to get there early. I would stay here again, we all had a good night sleep. We would just make sure the door is working correctly next time.

Room Tip: If you are traveling with children, ask for a large room. Front Desk is very accommodating.

I have stayed at the Sping Hill Suites Herndon/Reston a number fo times of the years, and never have been disappointed. The rooms are updated and have enough amenities to keep all four of us from being on top of each other. I have never had an issue with cleanliness, service or parking. The breakfast is your typical complimentary breakfast fare, but that is what you expect when staying at this type of acommodation. This hotel is consistently cheaper than many other area hotels, and I think it offers tremendous value with respect to its relatively convenient location to DC. I will be staying here again.

Stayed last weekend at the SpringHill Suites Herndon/Reston, which is located about 10 minutes driving time to the Dulles Airport. This is a fresh, new, and well designed hotel that has great rooms for the price. Front desk was extremely helpful, and the bed was outstanding. Asked for extra pillows on the check-in, and they were there. The room was very clean and very updated with a great desk area, sofa, and television. The cost was vary reasonable for the weekend rate. Extended checkout without an issue. My only issue was housekeeping knocking on the door and barging in the room even when notified the room was occupied, and the breakfast was a bit weak. Other than that, excellent stay!

Room Tip: Great stay for a pre-flight trip or for a weekend stay.

My husband and I stayed here two nights on a short trip to DC. I chose the hotel based on its proximity to the Metro's Vienna station. The hotel was great - spacious and clean. Our room was next to the elevator but we didn't notice any additional noise. Good complimentary breakfast that included scrambled eggs and ham/sausage; a good selection of cold cereal (not just sugary cereals); oatmeal with mix-ins; waffles; yogurt; fruit; and good coffee! There are a few restaurants across the street. The internet was free for 24-hours.

We chose this hotel for one reason: price. It had a Senior rate of $66. per night. It was also offering a weekend special rate of $69. per night. Most other hotels in the area were at least $100. per night and inside the DC beltway, the prices jumped quickly. We were about 30-40 mins from downtown DC. The best idea is probably to drive, or catch a bus, to a metro station (they're expanding the line towards Dulles Airport) and avoid parking in DC. On the other hand, we were only about 15 minutes form the new Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport: it is incredible. The rooms were large and clean, each with a coffe pot, microwave, and fridge. The breakfast was outstanding with fresh scrambled eggs and some type of meat as well as all the usual "breakfast included" choices. There is abundant shopping and restaurants, but you will need a car.

I just stayed at this hotel this week while my husband was having surgery at nearby Reston Hospital. Since I was by myself, I wanted a hotel where I would feel safe, and this was a great location for that. It was less than 5 minutes from the hospital, so it was very convenient for me to come and go as I needed to. The hotel is modern and very clean and comfortable. The suite was spacious and had a microwave and small fridge included. A plentiful full breakfast buffet was included with the room, so that was very helpful when I needed to get to the hospital early. The staff was always friendly and helpful, and they provided apples and cookies at the desk. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in the Reston/Herndon, VA area.

Room Tip: Higher floors seem to have less street noise.

Great hotel for the money! Convenient location to commute to DC, only 10 miles away from a subway station with $5 parking. Good complimentary hot breakfast, free Internet, indoor pool, and onsite laundry. Clean, spacious and kid friendly. The only negative is the parking. If you arrive after 9:00 PM, there isn't an empty parking space in the lot. Great experience for our family.
