I am VERY impressed by this hotel. I am writing this as I sit in my hotel room. This is a list of features that, individually, is not impressive, but altogether, this place makes my A+ list.
Free hot breakfast – scrambled and boiled eggs, whole and cut fruits, yogurt, 4 kinds of cereals, meats, hot sandwich, some potato variation, self make waffle, 3 kinds of coffee plus hot water for tea, 2 types of juice, milk plus others that I can’t remember now
Free high speed Internet – what more can I say. I have no Wi-Fi connection problem and was even on video chat.
At least 10 electrical outlets in room. I travel for business and carry 2 cell phones, 1 laptop and 1 iPod, all of which need to be charged overnight. The room has plenty of outlets on every wall. No need to move furniture to look for the evasive outlets that are usually already taken by desk lamps.
Pool and Jacuzzi. Personally I haven’t tried so I can’t comment. But I was told it is a salted pool. I can testify that the air did not smell like bleach. Some hotels with chlorinated pool has lobby that is overwhelmed with bleach smell.
Decent exercise room, not like Gold’s gym but sufficient. (BTW, they do offer some kind of referral to Gold’s but I didn’t investigate further.) All equipment looked new and in working condition. Room TV worked and so did the individual TV monitors on the exercise machine. (In fact, the colors on the TV were better than the ones United Airline used on their planes showing their movie.)
Free happy hour. I came back to the hotel earlier and discovered a good selection of Hors d’oeuvre and drinks offered till 7:30! No need to eat dinner. I don’t drink but 3 types of beer are offered, along with water and punch. How wonderful is that? Crackers, cheese, warm bread sticks, hummus, pita bread, several kinds of dips and a rice dish were offered tonight.
Full kitchenette – too bad I don’t cook but it is SO nice to have a full fridge, microwave, cook top and a dishwasher! Pots, cutting boards, utensils, plates, cups, and silverware are included!
In the my room:
- A small, but real dinning table with dinning chairs!
- Separate sitting area with sofa bed and chair.
- And a very creative placement of TV that can be rotated and be viewed by either on the bed or in the sitting area.
These are just the features that are up and beyond what is expected.
The only compliant I have is that there is no water dispenser in the exercise room, but I can get water from the kitchenette back in my room. No big deal.
Hope you will enjoy your stay as much as I did. I will not hesitate to return or recommend to my co-workers when they travel here to Harrisonburg.
Ask for a quiet room on the 3rd floor.
