“Lovely Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

Brent's is a chef owned restaurant in Downtown Hampton that has consistently high quality food, nice atmosphere and good service. They have a fun bar scene many nights but it is not too rowdy. We have eaten here many times -- and some nights are better than others -- but the food ranges from good to amazing.

“Hampton Fine Dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

Interesting and enjoyable menu in a small cafe setting. Location is in downtown Hampton convenient to marina, hotel, carousel and Air & Space Museum. Several daily specials are offered. Kitchen is open to view across a small counter. Wait staff is lightly manned. Food is an unusual and pleasant local departure from franchise fare. Pricey and worth it for a nice night out.

“A good choice among many options”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

It was hard to choose which of the many restaurants to pick for dinner in a row along quaint Queensway St in Hampton, but a stroll along the shaded street gave us a glimpse of all the menus to choose from. We were greeted by Patty, the bartender and made old fashioned cocktails just the way we like them! Our waitress, Melanie was helpful and unobtrusively cheerful. We started out with a mushroom soup that we who are from the "mushroom capital of the world" found delicious. Melanie confided that there is a hint of consume flavoring it. I enjoyed twin lobster tails gently broiled and slathered in a garlic butter sauce, broccoli and garlic smashed potatoes! My companion had a chicken pasta and thankfully lots of garlic (so we both carried the luscious flavor home) as well. The Exec. SousChef, Mike Wetterer, joined us and explained the pasta's secret of starting with browning the chicken in the pan then adding the garlic and herbs followed by the pasta. The house bread, a small sliced roll has just the right hint of rosemary and is replenished as needed. We enjoyed a lovely chocolate concoction that the chef sent over even though we had claimed to be too full to eat any more.
The restaurant had enticing menus for price fixed dinners on other weeknights as well as a tempting lunch menu and they also offer Sunday brunch! We will have to go back to try all these options!

“Excellent from Tapas to Entrees”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2012

After several visits to Brent's in the past few days and months, it is clearly one of the top two or three restaurants in the area. The tapas were excellent, and at $5 per plate at the bar they were even better. Fried Rice (pick your variety), Southwestern Chicken Eggrolls, Chicken Soft Taco, and Smoked Salmon on Potato Crepe were all wonderful, One friend shared his Crayfish Etoufe appetizer...bit spicey but awesome flavor. Filet Mignon entree is also to rave about, and presentation was superb. Great atmosphere, and good place to socialize with friends. Service was slightly slow, but we all agreed that good food takes time.

“Professional, fresh and tasty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2012

For lunch, they were out of the ravioli that I had in mind but I was very pleased with the salad, polenta and crimini soup.
