“Four star in small town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

We have eaten at J.T.'s several times. Food has always been good. My husband's favorite is the catfish; my favorites are the scallops and the filet. The Lavalette House is beautiful - always makes me feel that I have been some place special. Good to have a special place to recommend
to friends and guests.

“Off the Beaten Path but Worth Looking For”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

This restaurant is in an old mansion off of 29 in "downtown" Gretna. You eat in various rooms so there is not a lot of room between tables but it isn't confining. It reminded me of a restaurant we enjoyed as newlyweds 38 years ago-a touch of romance to it. Food was excellent. Had a hard time deciding what to eat. Chose crawfish etoufee for appetizer-wish they had this as a dinner option. Very good. Stuffed flounder was my choice and it, too, was good-fish was firm but not dry and the crab stuffing was delicious. Wine was reasonable and appropriate for all menu items. Only problem was service was sporadic. Wasn't offered a wine refill and had to remind waiter to bring my check. Would definitely go back. It was a welcome find.
