This trip was meant to be for relation and rest. As a 30 room boutique hotel owner in Barrio Amon, San Jose, Costa Rica for the past 23 years, I know the industry. Everything was just great here , from the friendly greeting of the owner, Mike to all of the staff including even the gardener. The food in the restaurant was wonderful with a nice variety every night on the white board. Being called the spice island, the restaurant at La Sagesse lived up to that reputation , using nutmeg and cinnamon in many of their dishes , very tasty. We sport fished one day with Captain Gary on-board Yes Aye and came back with fresh tuna, wahoo, Spanish mackerel and king mackerel, all wonderfully prepared by the staff in sushi appetizers and outstanding plates of different styles. In the morning and at night there are many local expats as well as boaters that come to enjoy a fine meal and it makes for a friendly enjoyable setting , with many times everyone setting at a large table , just eating, drinking and exchanging stories. The beach is very peaceful for swimming and the next bay over , which is a short walk thru the trees at the end of the bay lays a very secluded beach for anyone that wishes to REALLY enjoy nature in a more natural style ! I stayed in a bungalow at the end of the property with the waves lapping almost at the outdoor deck. As clean as it could be and wonderful bedding. I enjoyed several fine cigars here and the view is peaceful . All in all a wonderful, relaxing and peaceful vacation which is what I went for in the first place. Thanks to Mike , his lovely wife and all of the staff at La Sagesse ( by the way this is French for wise ) for an outstanding experience on the Island of Grenada. Thomas in CR
