“Food was good. Service needs improvement.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

We tried to order calamari. The waitress told us she didn't even know what it was on the menu because they never have it. We then heard her tell another table the exact same thing. Either take it off the menu or tell your waitress to just state you are out of it! The food we did get was very good. The waitress was apparently covering another room too because she would disappear a lot. When we went to order dessert, we were told they only have 3 or 4 of the approximately 8 desserts on the menu each night. Again, then why are they on the menu with no indication that not every is always available?? Since none of the desserts we wanted were available that evening, we decided to skip it and go to a local ice cream shop. While the food was good, we wouldn't bother going back because of the service issues.

Very innovative menu. The Reuben sandwich was delicious! Original artwork on the walls. Pleasant decorum.

“Wonderful breakfast in a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Looking for someplace different my wife and I ventured over to Gloucester for breakfast and had a great meal. We both had omelets which were excellent and the service was outstanding, even with a large group in the back. We shall return!

“Outstanding Seafood Chowder!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

I've reviewed Olivia's before but just had to post again how wonderful their seafood chowder is - had it last night for dinner, along with a Greek Salad, and it was outstanding! Thick, creamy, rich and chock full of delightful seafood (and just the right spices - we added pepper but nothing else) - just what you want in a chowder. Salad was delicious also and a generous portion.

“Party of Twenty, Next to No Notice, No Problem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

I was part of a group of 20+ people who showed up at Olivia's on a Wednesday night with not much notice. One person, Tracy, did it all by herself and did a helluva job taking care of us. A couple of people had to wait a bit for their meals (but not too long) but everyone's meal was great when it came and no-one on either side of the tansaction ever lost their smile. I had Olivia's signature crab and shrimp dinner. Several around me had salads, including one with a huge hunk of rare tuna in the middle, and a couple others had sandwiches. Again, everything was good and well served. Tracy kept me plied with cold adult beverages without having to be asked. My only regret was that I only had the one night in town to enjoy this place.
