“bring your bicycles!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

We enjoyed a fun weekend here. Loved being able to walk to town, and also being right off the New River Trail. We took several bike rides, and walked all over the historical downtown. The room was very clean and cozy, and it was a great experience all around.

In September of 2012, I visited Fiddler's Roost Cabins for a quick get-a-way with a friend. The accommodations were excellent - quiet, clean, and well-maintained. The breakfast was served promptly and was quite good. The hosts were friendly and informative about local happenings. I will return!

Spent two nights at Fiddlers Roost in cabin 4 - The Roost - after 5 nights camping in the Smokies. The view south over the N Carolina mountains/Blue Ridge Parkway was delightful. The spot secluded and peaceful. The hot tub was a wonderful addition. And because of the location right near the Blue Ridge Music Center, we found that wonderful National Park Service museum and learned about making mandolins. Highly recommended.

I would give the Twin Oaks cabin at Fiddlers Roost 3 and 1/2 stars if I could. The area was idyllic. The cabins were well placed for privacy. Ours had nice decorations, a very comfortable rustic feel, a two person hot tub out on the deck that was very relaxing. Breakfast was home cooked and delivered right to our door by 10am. Unfortunately, the bed was about as comfortable as a bunch of rocks. I mean, the springs were loudly squeaky, and, while it did not seem too bad when we first fell asleep, neither of us stayed asleep long, tossing and turning all night. Then, in the morning, our backs were in pain. On the 3rd night, one of us slept on the futon couch and the other on the floor. Also, the window unit a/c in the living room was so loud that we had to either shout at each other, or turn it off to talk. Unfortunately, we couldn't leave it off because of the humidity. I wish I could say that it was worth it for the location and ambiance alone. But, for $150.00 per night, I don't think it's too much to expect a comfortable bed and working equipment. I would definitely recommend Fiddlers's Roost, but, maybe not this particula77r cabin. That is assuming that all of them don't have old, worn out beds and dying air conditioners.

My wife and I were traveling the Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway and wanted to stay in a bed and breakfast. We found the Fiddler's Roost on a stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway near the N.C. border and the Blue Ridge Music Center. We stayed for one night (possible if it is not a weekend) and loved our room. There were nice touches from the owners throughout our cabin, with a fridge, stove, porch, grill, etc.

We loved the location--secluded and quiet!

The breakfast was delicious--pumpkin pancakes with bacon and orange juice delivered right to our door in the morning!

We would definitely stay here again, it was an excellent value.

Room Tip: We stayed in the The Bear Foot (Cabin 0). It had a small bedroom, a kitchen/dining area/living room...

Really loved the rural location. It's right off the Blue Ridge Parkway and it was perfect for a romantic getaway. My husband and I stayed in Owls Nest and it was small but perfect for 2 people. Breakfast was good. We enjoyed biking on the nearby New River Trail during the day and relaxing in the hot tub at night. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the peace and quiet being out in the country.

Based on the multiple excellent reviews on TripAdvisor I decided to spend 5 days at Fiddlers's Roost while on a motorcycle trip. This turned out to be one of the best vacations I've had in a long time. The hosts, Tempe and Andy, were friendly and very accommodating and dealing with them was like dealing with a couple of friends. Fun to talk to yet also very considerate of one's privacy. The cabin I stayed in was clean, comfortable, and the perfect setting to just relax. I spend most mornings hiking and most afternoons reading, relaxing in the rocking chairs on the porch, sitting in the hot tub, afternoon cocktails and dinner cooked on the outside grill. Couldn't ask for more. Bye the way, the delivered breakfast was as good as all the previous reviewers had mentioned. I will be back!!

Room Tip: Some cabins share the same driveway so some have more privacy than others. Between their web site an...
