I tried this place out years ago when it was on the other side of route 29 and was not impressed at all. I don't know what happened in their move to this current location, but it was for the best!
My wife and I are very picky about quality of seafood when dining out, and without a doubt I would order any seafood dish on the menu. My wife gets the seafood combination burrito or enchiladas every time, I normally switch it up with beef/chicken/seafood enchiladas. I have ordered the pork tenderloin and the medallions come out cooked to perfection (not overcooked) with a good variety of steamed veggies. We also love the variety of tequila, any of which they will put in a margarita.
The only downside to El Tio is the price. The quality of food is very good, and it better be once you see the check. The Jumbo Margaritas used to come in way bigger glasses, now for $20 a pop (premium tequila) we'll get 1 each at most (whereas in the past I've gotten to 3). I normally prefer "hole-in-the-wall" mexican restaurants and know what to expect food wise. While El Tio is great, we don't go as much becuase of the cost.
