We've had a string of good B&Bs (thanks trippies!) but this was in the top drawer. Lisal and Matt have put all their passion into creating a wonderful B&B. We never intended to stay here but diverted because Roanoke was pretty full and hence tripped over a jewel.
Floyd is a tiny place (pretty much a crossroads with one set of traffic lights) but with a strong bluegrass heritage and a laid back feel. Bella La Vita is about a mile out and just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The rooms are beautifully furnished with fun touches (ours had the wicked witch's feet sticking out from under the chest of drawers) and the main living room is one huge open plan area that makes sure that all the guests bond and share stories.
Our breakfast was excellent home cooked fare and lively conversation. Rarely have we felt so sad to leave. This is an outstanding B&B run by wonderful people with an infectious warmth. Change your plans, stop for as long as you can and enjoy - we're sure you won't regret it.
