“Floyd Virginia + Bella La Vita Inn = BEST WEEKEND GETAWAY!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

When I found a place on the Internet called "Floyd Virginia" and then went on to read about their Friday Night Jamboree I had no idea what a wonderful time I was in for. Of course, I needed to find a place to stay for my husband and I as well as our friends who would be meeting us for a get-away weekend: enter a magical place named "Bella La Vita Inn". This Tuscan inspired Inn is very clean but even more important is the owners attention to every small detail. Wine glasses left out for late-returning guests, always a home baked snack left on the counter, the freshest ingredients used to craft a gourmet breakfast for your pleasure with special items for those with food allergies, a private gazebo formed of live Wisteria and embellished with soft lights that are always left on for the pleasure of your intimate conversations. Of course there are the usual games, WI FI, interesting gift shop, extras of items you may have forgotten but it is the very positive energy of the Inn that beckons you to linger, relax, and make new friends. We don't usually sleep too well at hotels and B&B's, but Bella La Vita invested in good mattresses as well as linens. In fact, they invested in quality all around: granite countertops, honest wood beams throughout the open living space, a koi pond, abundance of flowers and a shady porch swing. Every corner is a tableau waiting for a memory to be made. The Jamboree...the wineries down the road..in fact all of the town of Floyd is as charming, safe and as friendly as one would hope for, but with Bella La Vita Inn it all becomes a first class destination. Of course we will be back; in all honesty we never wanted to leave. Kudos to Lisal and Matthew: They got it right.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Knights in Venice room. Fantastic deck, plenty of room, comfortable queen sized be...

Lisal and Matt have created a wonderful haven tucked away in the Virginia mountains. The place itself is beautiful, with spacious rooms and wonderful common areas, inside and out. Breakfasts are incredible, too, but it is their attention to guests that really stands out. This was my first stay here, but it will definitely not be my last.

My husband and I have stayed at a lot of bed and breakfast establishments over the past few years and this is one of the nicest we have ever visited. Everything was perfect - our room was immaculately clean, very quiet and comfortable, breakfast was delicious, there was a chocolate cake available for a late night snack and our hosts Matthew and Lisal were most accommodating. They recommended a great place for dinner and saw to our every need.

My only complaint is that we stayed at this B&B on the first night of a 14 day road trip and it is going to be the standard against which we weigh all the subsequent ones. Anyplace else will have to go far to measure up. Other than the fact that it is a little hard to find, it was 100% excellent. We would go out of our way to stay here again.

One caution: if you decide to stay here, believe Matthew and Lisal's recommendation to print and follow their instructions to find it. Using a GPS, which we tried, will lead you to a perfectly AWFUL short, unmaintained, rutted gravel lane, called "Sam's Road". We have a 4 wheel drive vehicle and wouldn't take it on this road. We turned around and found our way from a different direction.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Knights in Venice room and it was delightful. The bathroom is not inside the room...

We fully recommend Bella La Vita following our three night stay in the Panis Angelicus room from Sept 2nd 2013.Loved the high ceiling fan which was wonderfully cooling on the warm nights we enjoyed.
Lisal and Matt put you at your ease immediately and were perfect hosts allowing you to enjoy their beautiful house and garden. We loved sitting on our balcony looking over the gardens and were entranced watching the humming birds at the water feeder attached to the balcony.
Breakfasts were amazing for their wonderful quality and also variety. As if not enough, Lisal produced wonderful pies which were waiting for us when we returned after a days walking.
Lisal and Matt were also a fountain of knowledge on walks, restaurants and also vineyards where in one we had a super lunch.
Look forward to returning in the future Steven and Ruth UK

We are so happy to have discovered this Inn. We stayed in the Bramasole room downstairs and it was very comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed the porch and swing outside our room. The architecture and grounds are unique and lovely. Lisal and Matthew are amazing hosts and we really enjoyed their company. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. The full breakfast was absolutely delicious both mornings. And as a bonus treat Lisal made homemade key lime pie for us to snack on in the afternoon! Tea and coffee are always available which is a real plus for us. We wish we could have stayed longer. But we will be back!! We have no complaints at all about this great find!

We spent one night here on Labor Day weekend and were only sorry it wasn't more. The host and hostess have taken care to make the visitor welcome and comfortable--extremely comfortable. We stayed in Ex Libris and while it was the smallest room it was not small by any means. There is lots of seating in the great room and outside, brownies left out for the guests, a great breakfast--German pancakes with fruit syrup, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage along with juices, tea, and fabulous coffee--and everything is spotless. I strongly recommend this as a place to stay for a nice Floyd getaway.

We took a quick midweek getaway to Floyd, and the folks at Bella La Vita took great care of us! It was a lovely, quiet, and comfortable escape!

We really appreciated the attention to detail that the innkeepers showed. Every little need was anticipated and taken care of.
