“Spoiled fish”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012 via mobile

I really wanted to like this place. I love the new decor and the setting. Unfortunately, they served us spoiled fish. It really smelled. I don't understand how they could put spoiled smelly fish on a guest's table. Go next door to grffin tavern.

We apologize for failing to met your expectations. It would have been extremely helpful to us had you complained to the server or manager on duty so we could have fixed the problem right away.

We checked the records and had no other complaints around the time of your visit, so it is hard for us to determine what went wrong. Our chef is seafood-trained, plus we are the only restaurant in the area with two certified SerSafe Food Protection managers with at least one on duty at all times.

Our seafood comes only from premium suppliers and is verified for the species labeled. In addition, we maintain our own tagging records to monitor freshness.

However, mistakes happen and our goal is 100 percent customer satisfaction. Always let your server know on the spot when you are not pleased with your food or your selection.

“What a treat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

On a leisurely drive through the horsey Virginia countryside, we found this wonderful restaurant (it also has 4 rooms for overnight stays) in Flint Hill, VA, just 5 miles from Washington Virginia (home of the very famous Inn at Little Washington). It is housed in what was once a school house but has been completely redone and is contemporary in style. The food was really delicious; there were so many things on the menu that sounded wonderful, we had a hard time choosing. I had the lobster roll which was the best I've had outside of Maine and my husband had the French Dip - also wonderful. We most assuredly will go back the next time we're in Virginia.

“Tasty food, great setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

Loved the "hot" salad of crab, turkey and shrimp. Stylish, contemporary decor inside, very good service. Would like to go back to sit outside - nice setting.

“Enjoyed it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Had dinner here on a Saturday night in October. Loved it. The menu features mostly American comfort foods. We started with the crab dip (loved!) and my wife had the Ahi tuna salad. I had the filet mignon which was superb. We had the homemade ice cream for dessert and the pecan pie. Both were great.
