“Very good choice”

This hotel is very close to DC and is a great choice for the price. Staff are helpful and friendly. Hotel and guest rooms are clean and cared for. It was recently renovated, and is a comfortable place to stay.

Jim Ireland - general manager - Very courteous, helpful, concerned about guests enjoying their stay. Natasha - desk hostess on arrival, afternoon and evening. Went out of her way to make our stay pleasant. Always made us feel "at home", not just customers. We have stayed at many Best Westerns throughout the world and have found this to be our best experience.

This was my first time staying with Best Western, but not the last time. My wife loved the room with the fridge and microwave and my son loved the breakfast. The room was clean and the flat screen TV was nice with plenty of channels should you wan to stay back and rest.

The people are what really make this place stand out. From the front desk staffs who want nothing more to do than to insure you are taken care of to the cleaning staff who constantly greets you as you walk the hallways. The best by far was Bell who works in the Restaurant during the evening. My wife and I actually look forward to going back just to see her. Whatever you do, don’t miss Bell!

The Hotel is a two story building with a pool. I never realize it had a second story until my wife pointed it out to me as we departed the property. I did not hear anyone on the second floor even as it was sold out.

The Hotel is located close to all the attractions, a major plus. Definitely get across the street to eat at the Bentley’s Dinner.

Room Tip: We got the room with a pool side door. I would definitely recommend everyone to request pool side do...

Went with friends for a weekend DC trip. Hotel had free shuttle to the metro (and close enough to drive too). Very clean and neat. Short drive away from some really good places to eat. Staff was very helpful and the breakfast was good too. The wifi was also fast, which really helped to keep us entertained. The rooms had nice high ceilings and helped balance out the dark carpet (I think my biggest dissatisfaction is the ugly carpet but that's quibbles since I don't have to look at it much.)

I, my daughter and my parents stayed here for 3 nights (October 2014) and used it as a base for being tourists in DC. Free parking was a great plus and the free shuttle that ran until 11 am in the morning and between 5-9pm in the evening was a great help (we did get a cab once from the closest metro station to the hotel and it cost around $10). Free wi-fi in the room worked with no problems and the free breakfast was adequate. The breakfast consisted of cereal, yogurt, coffee, juice, doughnuts & muffins, toast, egg and bacon. The bacon was great, the eggs were standard scrambled eggs made on a large scale.
Most of the staff were friendly, helpful and courteous but there is always that one person who makes you wonder how they ended up in the job they have! This one in particular obviously felt that her cell phone call was much more important than talking to the guests waiting at the desk in front of her and when I dared interrupt her to let her know a problem with the smoke alarm, she look at me as though I was talking a different language and then eventually waved me away saying there was nothing she could do about it because it was Sunday. This being said, the other members of staff were lovely, welcoming and helpful. Two other front desk clerks helped me find places I wanted to drive too and get to via metro (one of whom, Ivorie, printed out a subway map for me and explained the way the metro system works as to to trains and fares etc. She was also very accommodating when I asked for an extra blanket one night). One of the shuttle drivers (Rodger) was very helpful, friendly and chatty without being over the top.
There were a few issues with the hotel: our extractor fan in the bathroom did not work, the smoke alarm in the hallway beeped every 30 seconds indicating it needed a new battery and although we mentioned it to three different members of staff, it was still beeping when we left on Tuesday morning (we were eventually offered a different room but it was in the same corridor so we would still have heard the beeping of the alarm), the ladies washroom by the reception on Monday afternoon felt like the heating was broken (it must have been 100 degrees in there!) and there was toilet tissue all over the floor and the stalls were dirty. Our main room door must have swollen over the years because it really stuck when opening and closing it - the noise every time you tried to go in must have woken the whole hotel.
The room was clean though and the beds were very comfortable. The shower was very powerful and overall it was good value for money (as long as you are not paying the standard hotel rates posted on the inside of the door).
One last point - someone here mentioned how there was no elevator and she had to carry her bags up the stairs. I would like to point out that there were only 5 steps and the whole place is only on ground level! As for there not being a gym - the website does not advertise that it has a gym in the first place so we were not disappointed!

Do not use this hotel if you are traveling with luggage! The facility does not have elevators. To reach the guest rooms, you are required to carry your luggage up the stairs, it is particularly worse if you are assigned to the 2d floor. Also, do not use this hotel if you want exercise facilities. None. This hotel has some worth only if you are traveling without luggage, are not looking for a good place to eat at the hotel and don't mind bumpy beds. But, it still costs too much for what you will get.

One of the best things was the free shuttle service to the DC Metro Rail. Hotel lobby & dining area was nice. Rooms were ok. Nice little town & close to DC. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. One morning, we had an appointment for the Washington Memorial, but the shuttle line was backed up. The staff got us to our Metro Rail & appointment on time. Great job!
