“filled a need, barely”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

Forgetting for the moment that it was chucking down rain when we pulled in, or that it was the start of the Rolling Thunder memorial Day weekend motorcycle rally in DC attracting hundreds of thousands of bikers from all over the country, forgetting for the moment that at best a $60 a night hotel charged us about $130, forgetting that this hotel caters to bus traffic and reserved normal parking spaces for about 6 (more?) full size motor coaches which disgorged hundreds of tourists into the hotel, forgetting that the only available beds were lumpy doubles and our room was at the front corner of the hotel next to the aforementioned bikers (coming and going all night and at the crack of dawn)(one word: mufflers, boys mufflers!) and busses (idling), the location is fairly good, right near Arlington National Cemetery and close to Memorial Bridge, and the staff was friendly.

But that's about it.

Not overly impressed this go around.

We recently stayed at this location for three nights while visiting the D.C. Area. Was great for our family after full days in dc. Kids able to swim in outdoor pool with lifeguard. Lifeguards were very nice! They had a nice breakfast also. Stayed at different best western in Pennsylvania and they did not have the breakfast selection as this location did. Staff very friendly and helpful. They do not provide transportation to the Metra but there is a station with parking for 4.75 daily close by. Does get filled up quick but we just waited about 5. Minutes until someone was leaving. Room was clean and house keeping did great job daily. Great stay thank you.

Stayed here for a night. My no smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke. The room as a whole was pretty standard but very dated. The concierge was helpful in their attempts to get me a cab in the morning.

overall, stay somewhere else!

The room was clean and relatively quiet, even though there were about a hundred bikers staying there that weekend. The hotel was very convenient to IHOP, CVS, and an ice cream shop all next to the property. The carpet was due for a good steam cleaning, and there was an overlooked Gatorade bottle under one bed. But other than that the room was very clean. Only 10 to 30 minutes to all of our DC and Virginia destinations. But what was most impressive was what happened after we left. Upon arriving home we realized we had left a pair of shoes in the room. I called the hotel and talked to Al, who confirmed the shoes were now at the front desk and offered to take them to FedEx or UPS to arrange shipment to me. He called me on the way to FedEx the next morning to confirm my shipping address and FedEx account number. He then called after leaving FedEx to give me the tracking number. (Although the number he gave me turned out to be an airbill number, not the tracking number) No worries! The shoes arrived 2 business days later! Kudo's to the maid who cleaned our room and to Al...great customer service! Looking forward to returning in the future!

The rooms were foul smelling, dirty and broken down. The beds were super uncomfortable, breakfast was poor, and the area around was somewhat shady. The front desk staff however, was super helpful and professional.

We stayed here for a night after a long day at DC. The room was nice and neat, one of the problem we had was the toilet overflowed and when I called the front desk to report the problem I was told that all the housekeepers were already off. (that was only around 6pm) and advised us to just move to a different room. We had no choice but to move eventhough we don't want to leave the fridge. By the way, the fridge is not automatically included in the room. You have to make a special request when you book. I think that's not a big deal for just a night but if you are traveling with a toddler, it's a must. So we move to a different room which is located beside the stairway and like what the other reviewer said here....IT IS LOUD! You can hear the door banging especially in the morning, that's when the breakfast time starts. So if you need to sleep in after a long exhausting day, a room beside the stairway is definitely a wrong spot. Free warm breakfast is good. Just make sure to check the utensils before you use it, I got a fork that has a dried ketchup in it and a lipstick stain on the rim of my coffee cup. Overall this deserves a 3 star.

Great location, close to DC, yet far enough away from the "big city". Our room was very comfortable, with firm king bed. Very helpful staff, Albert (manager) introduced himself to us at breakfast on our 1st morning. Very good, hot breakfast was available every morning. While many of our days were spent in DC, we were pleased to find a very clean laundromat within a mile of the Inn. And Miguels, the restaurant at the Inn, was very handy and the food was very good too.

Room Tip: ask to see the rooms available, if there is a choice.
