“Great Simple Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

I stayed here for a one night stopover on a business trip. The price was good, the location convenient and the hotel exactly as I needed. There was ample parking, food options close by, the staff were courteous, the room a decent size and everything was clean.

Sure the interior is a little dated but for a simple hotel that doesn't cost a fortune, this is one of the better ones.

The location is perfect for Falls Church. Everything is in walking distance of less than 2 miles including the Metro (East Falls Church stop). A Mad Fox Brewing, Starbucks, and Chipotle across the street compensate for the greasy sticky wrapped cupcake called breakfast. Essentials for a serious traveller like good water pressure, adequate hot water, quiet rooms, sleepable bed, free parking, clean sheets and towels of decent quality, make this $99/nite place a bargain in the realm of $300 hotels nearby. Everybody is always friendly at the hotel and I've stayed many times.
I'm old and safety is a concern. The neighborhood is upscale and very safe day or night. Drivers are courteous to walkers with the exception of the alpha male SUV middle aged angry guy.

Room Tip: all rooms are equal, and, the elevator is very quiet..

We stayed here twice before but were disappointed this time. Mold in the shower and around faucets. Hair on the bathroom floor. Air conditioner cover kept falling off (only to show how filthy it was).

We chose this small hotel while visiting family in McLean, VA. Yes, the room was smallish, but not as small as the ones in NYC. Comfortable king bed with four pillows and very nice linens, microwave, refrigerator, WiFi, good TV, all at no extra charge. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We had a high toilet with a long bowl--the best. Shower over the tub with small rain head. Water pressure was fine. Room 205. Parking felt safe. Lighting better than many rooms I've stayed in. No smoke smell in our room or the hallway. No room shares a wall with the elevator. Ice was one floor up, not a big distance since the hotel probably has only 33 rooms. The lobby is tiny, but we didn't go for the lobby. We went for a clean, comfortable room. The orange juice was good quality and, although pre-packaged, the breakfast rolls tasted just fine. Fresh apples were also available. Good value for the area. Although we didn't go to Panera, we would have if we'd had the chance. Many things within walking distance. We stayed two nights. We'll stay there again.

Great location, very friendly and professional managers, new very comfortable beds, crispy-clean bed linen, quiet refrigerator, good sound isolation when someone in the bathroom taking shower - it is almost silent, the bathroom itself has everything in the right place, I liked how it has shower cabin, nice quality towels and facial tissue, ventilation works good so your clothes do not get damp while you are in the bathroom.

I feel like there are so many small details that it must be someone who really cared about making guests stay as comfortable as possible, take even short and clear login and password for wifi (!) I could go on and go on, but the bottom line is you would most probably enjoy your stay here, you can get a good rest and relax in this comfortable hotel and even after a short stay you will be refreshed and full of energy in the morning.

In addition to this great experience we had a bonus we would never expect - definitely proves how friendly and generous the manager is - at check-out we received a bottle of wine as a gift. Next trip to Washington D.C. we'll definitely coming back to Falls Church, not for wine =) but for comfort that we already experienced.

Very affordable, and located just a quick easy drive from the hospital, I can not say enough about the cheerful, courteous, extremely helpful and professional manager, or the ease for me (newly disabled & with medical equipment in use) to check in with only a few steps to the front desk, & elevator to our room once my husband helped me out of the car before parking, or the room! The room, bathroom, amenities, absolutely everything was spotless. The bed linens and towels were a soft and pristine snow white; the beds, pillows, and room temperature were extremely comfortable, and the off site catering menu offering room service meals placed next to the phone worked out perfect for us. Our stay was absolutely wonderful.

My husband and I were visiting family in the area and were delighted to be referred to this little treasure literally a block away from them. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the hotel was quiet; all for a very reasonable price. My only criticism would have to do with the advertising of a continental breakfast as that consisted of nothing more than prepackaged muffins and coffee with non dairy creamer. Overall though I would still highly recommend the Inns of VA Falls Church and just say grab coffee at Panera across the street.
