“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2011

My husband, son (11) and I stayed in a studio suite for 3 nights for $100. The included breakfast was a 'grab & go' style which is fine for us. We ate in our room or while walking the 1.2 miles to the metro station. I brought my laptop and the internet hook up was rather slow, but usable. We didn't take advantage of the small pool. The workout room was adequate. I felt safe to run the neighborhood alone in the morning. There are a few restaurants/stores close enough to walk. The staff was helpful and cheerful.

I recommend it!

The staff that work here are great. They really go out of their way to make your stay as wonderful as possible. The hotel isn't very convenient for getting to DC. It's a bout a 5 minute drive to the metro and then a 25 minute ride to the mall. If you add in the time it takes to get your ticket, wait for the train, etc....it's the better part of an hour to get from the hotel to wherever you're trying to go. The hotel is convenient to grocery stores, dining, shopping, etc. The neighborhood it's in is pretty nice and quiet. It gets busier and maybe a little rough a few miles in either direction, but we never felt unsafe, and I tooka 5 mile run at night with no problem at all.

Perhaps the best thing about the hotel is the suite itself. Having separate bedrooms makes life with young children SO much easier. We had a 2 bed suite that came with living area and a kitchenette. They have satellite tv with plenty of channels. The breakfast is what they call "grab and go". That means cereal, pre-packaged muffins, fruit and nutrigrain type breakfast bars. There is nowhere to eat in the lobby, so you have to just stand there and eat, go back to your room, or eat on the go. Not terribly convenient with a 2 year old. They have 1 computer in the lobby with internet access. If you see it open, hop on because it's usually occupied (unless of course you brought your own laptop).

The workout room is pretty small. They have 1 elliptical, 1 treadmill, 1 recumbent bike and some free weights. It was full one night (hence my outdoor run). They do have an outdoor pool, no spa/hot tub.

I was greatly disappointed with this hotel, they clean your room only once a week, they provide a refresh service however I could not really notice what they did for the refresh service. The internet was unbelievably slow and the cable tv was not working properly. I did not consider the price to be inexpensive so I was very disappointed. The breakfast consisted of prepackaged muffins, some cereal and some fruit, another disappointment. I would not recommend this hotel and I will not be staying here again either.

We stayed here or almost 2 weeks following a home fire. We had a nice 2 bedroom suite with a small kitchen.
The hotel is in a pretty residential neighborhood ( I've lived in the area over 10 years and didn't know it was there). You will need a car. There are a couple walkable restaurants and an ethnic grocery store. Area is quiet and quite safe (falls church city is a prime location). Close to I66 interstate an no oo fa from the Capital Beltway. The best mall in Dc area is about 15-20 mins away and lots of local chain stores within 5 minutes or so of hotel.

Hotel has free "takeout" breakfast every day that was minimal by adequate ( coffee, juice, cereal, fruit, oatmeal). Small outdoor pool was not in season yet when we stayed. It looked very small but ok. Room was good sized - our family of 2 adults and 2 toddlers survived our 2 day stay.

We were very happy and this will likely be our new "visiting in -law hotel".

They worked well with us to extension our stay beon the initial reservation. Parking was very plentiful ( we brought 3 cars for on room).

This hotel is inexpensive - there is no doubt that the price, especially if you are staying long-term, cannot be beat. I guess, however, that because it was a name brand like Marriott I expected better. The room is serviceable, but dated - especially the kitchen. What I really cannot forgive is the terrible internet service. In 2011, who has heard of a hotel that does not offer wireless internet in the rooms? There is WIRED internet, but it is slooooow. And while wireless works with laptops, you cannot connect your Ipad or Ipod. In this day and age a good wireless signal is a fundamental necessity, and the absence of decent internet in this hotel really knocks down its value, imho. Other than that, however, you are getting what you paid for, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

The staff really makes this hotel great. It is older, but updated. We stayed for several days. Seems like some rooms were more updated than others. I recommend the top floor. We were not on the top floor and could hear people walking above us. The breakfast is not bad for something quick on the way out the door.

I really, really wish this hotel had wi-fi. Internet is free, but wired.

Room Tip: top floor

This place could be nice if they cleaned up! The curtains, carpeting and bed sheets all need to be replaced. My blanket had moth holes all in it. The musty smell was so strong and you can not open the windows to air it out. Try fairfax hampton inn, a few miles further but much cleaner! If your someone who likes their space to feel fresh, do not go here!
