We just spent another couple of weekends at the Marriott Fair Oaks Mall and we always enjoy this hotel. This property is much nicer than other hotels in the area, but has very reasonable weekend rates. Nice safe area, and convenient to restaurants at Fair Oaks Mall and Fairfax Corner. We will definitely stay at this hotel again on our next visit to Fairfax!

The staff has been trained to perfection. The front desk staff was more professional and competent than almost all the hotels I have stayed at. The lounge was well stocked on club level and staffed extremely well. My only ding was that I was in a room (576) under a type of small conference room. The staff was setting up shortly before 6am above me and making a horrific amount of noise. I can imagine that adjoining rooms also heard it. If they set up that early, they should be mindful of the guests sleep. Other than that a great hotel. Kudos to the super friendly and competent staff.

I arrived to meet the friendliest front desk staff, the lady with the pretty eye makeup you know who she is!, the concierge/door man every one was very friendly and helpful.
I stayed here on a short visit and although its quite a drive away from the heart of D.C.
Cab fare was about $50, cab fare to Dulles was $42, cab fare to metro station was $15, walk across the parking lot to the mall which was a great location with stores and restaurants. If you are on a budget there is a bus at the mall that takes you to the metro but it took forever the one day i attempted it from the metro station, i think every 30 minutes, so i took a cab.
Executive lounge was small but nice with tvs, soft drinks and a light snack.
Room was nice and roomy with a large couch and large bathroom area. Lobby was nice with alot of room and the breakfast buffet was phenomenal with lots of choices and made to order stations.

We live locally, but decided to stay here for the night after attending an event in the hotel's ballroom. It's the second time we've stayed at this particular property and we really enjoyed ourselves. The front desk is very courteous and friendly. The rooms are very clean and cozy. We were upgraded to the concierge level free of charge and liked the room. There isn't much for views (the mall or the busy roads). You can tell they have nice mattresses, but they were a little soft for my liking. It's convenient. We saw a lot of transient guests, airline stewardesses and one or two business people that must have stayed over the weekend while we were there. The ballroom was typical and the food was good. The foyer where we had hors d'oeurves was very open and pleasant. Parking is free. There are computers in the lobby for you to check your email. There's also a gift shop and restaurant on the lobby level.
