“Excellent Hotel/Location for exploring Washington, DC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

We just returned from a three day trip to see the cherry blossoms. When we made the reservation at the Hyatt House, the cherry blossoms were supposed to be in full bloom. Unfortunately, they were not. The lack of cherry blossoms did not dampen our enjoyment of the Hyatt House in Falls Church. Recently opened, the Hyatt House is a pleasure. The staff were all friendly and very willing to help. The room (king bed without a sofa bed) was large and well appointed. The free breakfast was typical of other Hyatt House facilities. In other words, it is very good. All of this at a very reasonable price of $93/night.

If you want a nice hotel with easy access to the Metro, this is your place. The walk from the hotel to the Dunn-Loring Metro stop is about 12 minutes. The stop is on the Orange line so if you are going to the Mall, it's a 30 minute ride to the Smithsonian Metro stop on the Mall. Directions to the Metro stop: from the hotel take a right (Lee highway) and follow until you reach Gallows Road (2 blocks). Turn left onto Gallows Road and follow for about 5 blocks. The Metro stop is on the left side of the road just before you reach a bridge over a highway.

Truly an awesome hotel, staff was very friendly and welcoming upon arrival and were very helpful if you wanted to find out tour information for visiting the area. The hotel is definitely brand new and the room was gorgeous. This hotel deserves more of a 4 star rating versus a 3 star. The food at the breakfast buffet was also very tasty and delicious. The amenities that this hotel offer are great as well. They have a nice fitness center and pool on the 2nd floor. I only was able to stay for 1 night but I will definitely be staying at this hotel again on my next visit to the DC area.

Warning: The hotel entrance can be a bit of a challenge to find because its not on the front of the street. Its on the side where the parking garage is located.

The area is very upscale, there are great restaurants located near by, along with a Target that is also close to the hotel as well. Overall excellent stay and will definitely be back again.

Stayed here on business for one night, as they were offering a great rate using Priceline.
Interesting place. Very modern and and Euro-looking. Located in an up-scale shopping area, which I will explore on the next trip. The place is brand new, so all of the fixtures, carpets, and furnishings were clean and new. Parking is in a modern covered garage adjacent to the hotel.
Very nice folks behind the desk. Room was equipped with a refrigerator and a small microwave for those wanting to warm up a meal or keep some wine cold. This is one of the new "green" hotels like those in Europe, so your room key in the receptacle near the door turns on the power in the room for heating and A/C, which worked very well. Hotel is VERY quiet and pleasant.

WiFi is FREE everywhere, and is fast enough to run Netflix with little or no buffering. Extra bathroom touches include a tube of toothpaste, BIG walk-in shower, up-scale soaps and shampoo. Bed was very comfortable, with ample pillows. Television was the whole DirecTV deal, same as I have at home, with HD on most channels.

A bit challenging to find the Hotel entrance, which is on a small narrow lane running parallel to the main highway (Lee Highway), but once you have done it, it's easy to return there.

Restaurant was adequate, with a varied menu of plates, salads and sandwiches. Service was fine.

Fitness center has 3 treadmills and a couple of elipticals along with free weights and a stepper. The swimming pool is seasonal, but really, who cares?

Highly recommend this Hyatt House, as it is a great value. This place is a gem. Still undiscovered and will need more guests to be successful.

Room Tip: Appears any room will be fine

We went here for a "girls weekend". It was perfect. Close to everything but not in a crowded area. Complimentary breakfast, nice fitness room and clean rooms...for a great price! I'd definitely stay here again.

This is a new hotel so there is little to complain about. Great service, The room is beautiful and well appointed and designed. For a relatively small space it doesn't feel tight but everything is works. If I wanted to pied a terre this is exactly how it should be designed. This place is in a squeezed into a new hipster neighborhood on the old side of Falls Church and will soon be a "go to" place with a Target across the street and a Le Pain Quotidian alongside Mom's organic supermarket. I want to come back soon.

This was my first stay in a Hyatt House. I was unfamiliar with the brand, and was very pleasantly impressed. The property is brand-new, so everything is in excellent repair. The decor is hip, upbeat, with a calming vibe. The rooms are terrific; a couch, full kitchen, table & chairs, and a very comfortable bed. You get shampoo and conditioner automatically in the room, but you'll have to ask for lotion. They have it, you just have to ask. And, a hot tasy breakfast is included in the room price.

What you don't get is a concierge, bellstaff, or room service. This is a little suprising, but once I understood that Hyatt House is not a full-service hotel, it was absolutely fine. Their small gift shop is really a tiny grocery; they stock quite a number of microwave entrees, plenty of snacks, beverages, and breakfast foods.

This particular Hyatt House is in a newly renovated section of Falls Church. It's relatively close to a Metro stop, and right around the corner from many restaurants, shops, and a Target.

... if you have a very cool, very hip home! My husband and I stayed there over a weekend in February and were extremely happy with our stay. The hotel was quiet, mostly because they primarily cater to business travelers and are busier during the week. We stayed 3 nights, hanging out in the bar the first night, playing pool and chatting with the bartender. The rooms are cozy, yet modern. The bed was pretty nice; I'm picky about beds and I slept well. It's right off the freeway a mile or two, which made getting to my brother's house in Annadale a snap. The staff was very helpful, without being intrusive. Will now look for Hyatt Houses when we travel as our first choice.

Room Tip: The elevator mechanical room seemed loud, but we had a room on the end of the hall away from the ele...
