“Nice hotel, good location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2011

We were fairly pleased with this Expedia find. The facility is lovely, very new, and the rooms a decent size with comfortable beds. Very secure with a parking garage and the need to have a room key to use the elevator. Only complaints: 1) YOU WILL NOT get the room you reserve (others have told us this but we hoped for a different outcome). When we nicely told them we had reserved a king bed with a sofa the front desk said they "We don't have one. Only doubles." My husband said we'd reserved it over a month before and the response from the desk was, "So do you want the room or not?" We'd already paid for it so.... 2) Even though we'd reserved a room for 3 people, they only provided 2 towels each day. Aggravating! Other than that, it was clean, we met some nice employees (so they aren't ALL rude!) and the location can't be beat if you need to be close to GMU.

This hotel is a new hotel, built 2010, with everything in excellent condition. The staff are super friendly, the facilities are excellent, and the extras in the bar and restaurant aren't cheap but are nevertheless well priced.

The promotional photos undersell just how good this is. The room was comfortable and spacious, the bed great, and the location as quiet and comfortable as you could wish for.

Oh and it's a great Priceline trip. I thought I'd got a steal but actually I probably overbid.

The fitness center in the hotel is basic but it's just across the way from the superb GMU campus fitness center if you need to work out; unless you only want a very basic treadmill type arrangement, that's a much better option.

The location is good but not great ... public transport is limited, although there is a shuttle bus. If you want to go downtown into DC then it's maybe a little too far out to be practical - but that is the only reason I'd not return if I were anywhere nearby.

I stayed at the Mason Inn as part of a workshop group. I was a bit apprehensive about the location, having decided to use transit rather than drive. However, the hotel has a shuttle that connects it with the Vienna stop on the DC Metro. From/to Union Station, give yourself 1.5 hours to travel. Shuttle buses leave the hotel every half hour and do stop through out the George Mason campus on the way to the Vienna station.

The hotel is relatively new, spotless and very well decorated. The room was very comfortable. Free internet was included, as well as large range of TV channels. Some items that management could address, most notably the lack of paper and pens in the room (which is a problem when having to take notes during calls). Also, the chair in the room already had discolorations and the name on the TV listed as the person in the room was not me.

Meals were provided as part of the workshop and were very good. Unique offerings, such as fruit smoothies during breaks were a wonderful touch.

This hotel is a very good setting for a business meeting and workshops.

My family and I recently stayed at the Mason Inn while touring college campuses and visiting family in the area. We found the hotel to meet all of our needs. It is brand new and features many self-sustainable green initiatives for the property. The staff is welcoming and attentive. The accommodations are fresh, modern and clean. The bedding and beds are among the most comfortable - what a fantastic night's sleep! We will stay here anytime we return to the area. A wonderful addition to the GM campus!

What a fantastic moderately priced gem to find sitting right on the edge of a beautiful college campus! Whether you have business at George Mason University or not, this is one well designed Hotel and Convention Center. This very secure Inn is a short drive to many great shops and Restaurants. Contemporary and tastefully decorated and appointed rooms. Where they really shine is in the area of guest services! Because of our late flight arrival, and extended stay we had a few special requests which were all handled with kind understanding and professional consideration. We've just booked another stay at the Mason Inn, and I am sure it will not be our last!

*No pool.

Room Tip: Have to request a refridgerator, the hotel has a limited supply.

I can only dream. Clean, comfortable, spacious room with great bed, choice of pillows (no need for your own, unless you really want to), great TV channel selection (I think about 15 premium channels or more with HBO, Showtime, etc.). The staff was nice, the gym, short 5 min walk from the hotel will put many premium health clubs to shame with full size basketball court, squash, and all the exercise machines you can think of and some you can’t. The building is almost the size of the hotel as well.

The hotel has a restaurant and bar on the premises and reasonable (for the area) priced menu.

Two minor complaints: The hotel is not very conveniently located (unless you have business at the university of course) and during our stay the aquatic center was closed. Sigh. It would be great to swim in Olympic size pools and use all the amenities one can think of.

Not much else to say. The great stays are always short reviews. I would stay in this hotel any day. And I think that says it all.
