“Clean and Contemporary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2011

Very clean, great service, and a nice contemporary style and layout (a needed change from traditional floral rooms)! The trade off is that it's a little off the beaten path, but considering the price, breakfast and overall quality of the room - well worth the trade off!!!!

I stayed here for six nights while on vacation in the DC area. We had a great experience!

Free breakfast which included usually eggs, sausage, waffles, donuts, cereal, muffins or bagels, etc. It was pretty good food, and free which makes it even better.

Our room was nice and roomy and clean. I did find some hair on the extra blanket in the room but the woman at the front desk brought up another blanket quickly and offered us something from down in the snack area for free.

They had wireless internet that worked well, and a fitness center with two treadmills, some free weights, and two bikes. The treadmills and bikes had individual tvs on them which was great as well.

There was also a free shuttle to the Fairfax/Vienna Metro station but you had to sign up the night before to make sure there was room. It's about a 30 minute ride on the Metro from that stop into DC. Free parking at the hotel which was nice as well.

The women and men at the front desk were great and helpful. They gave us advice on places to eat around the area and even got to know us by name.

While we were there, it was a huge spring break week so the hotel was full of kids... but it was as quiet as can be at night!

Overall, a great place to stay if you're looking at going into DC!

We had several problems with our stay at this hotel this past week. First of all, the pool was filthy, could not see the bottom and there was stuff floating in it. The lifeguard on duty sat and visited with friends and texted on his cell phone and neglected to watch the 9 children in the pool at the time. We had a rooftop carrier on our van and staff wanted us to park in the dark, behind the hotel next to the dumpster with our 3 young children. Our rooms were left without toilet paper.... The staff seemed to care less about any of our concerns... I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Do not stay here.

Upon 5 minutes of our stay, we found left over milk in the fridge, strands of hair in the bed, and the linen was all wrinkled as if used. I called the front desk and they promptly sent someone to change the linens, but that kinda spoiled the whole visit for me.

We stayed here while visiting the DC area with our 2 children and wouldn't stay anywhere else now. The hotel was exceptionally clean, staff extremely helpful and courteous, everything was perfect. Wonderful breakfast available in the lobby daily included cereals, juice, yogurt, hot oatmeal, bread/bagels/donuts, and hot dishes that varied each day. Took a day or so to find a breakfast time that wasn't busy, but there was always something to eat. The hotel offered a shuttle to the Metro station in the am and pm that you must sign up for each day. If you choose to drive to the Metro it's about a 10-15 minute ride by car. There is a Ruby Tuesday in a shopping plaza across the street plus some Korean and Chinese places as well. A little farther down rt. 50 you will find other chain rest. and other places to eat. The room was a bonus with a mini-fridge & microwave plus sitting area with a pull out couch. The double beds were a little small for all 4 of us, so one of the kids stayed on the pull-out which gave us a little extra room at night. I cannot say enough about this hotel, and I would stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

The rooms are good. Enough space in the living area. You can watch TV in the living area or from one of the two queen beds. The other bed is too far away to watch TV out of that bed. Breakfast is OK. Just the average you get at all SpringHill Suites.

Internet connection was wireless and good. Bathroom was nice and spacious.

The hotel is near a mall which is great to visit for last minute shopping before going to the airport.
