Description: The Auld Shebeen is Fairfax City's only authentic Irish Pub and Restaurant. In Ireland a Shebeen was an illicit drinking den, an after hours speakeasy where once inside people found good familiar conversation, drink, friends and great food! Fascinating history surrounds these shebeens that have always offered excitement for local patrons and will forever be a part of Irish lore. Our Menu is based on both traditional Irish recipes and American cuisine. Our house specialties include our Seafood Stew, Dubliner Stuffed Chicken and our Filet Mignon with Irish whiskey and green peppercorn sauce, with many others including many traditional Irish pub favorites like our Guinness Beef Stew, Shepherd's Pie or Fish and Chips. So whether it is a few quiet pints after work or a special evening out, here at The Auld Shebeen we will do our utmost to make your visit with us a special one. We feature live traditional Irish music every Friday and Saturday in the restaurant.

“Forget Olde Shebeen”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

I enjoy good food and the fish and chips were soggy and tasteless. My wife's Porto bello mushroom sandwich was cold and tasted as though they had been over cooked.

“Just an average pub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

Except for the live music I found the menu and food to be just average. The fish and chips left much to be desired.

“Authentic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

Many Irish pubs outside Ireland fail to capture the sense of what a true Irish pub is. Owned by two Irishmen, this place hits the mark. They have live entertainment weekly, a stocked bar, and a menu of good pub grub.

“Good food and fun.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

We've been here half a dozen times and its always good. Live musicians are a great addition to the great food. The diners sing and clap along at times. Even teens have a good time with the Irish music. The stout burger is a fav, as is the beef stew. Don't forget the Irish creme creme brûlée and the nutty Irishman coffee.

“Wonderful Irish pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

Whenever I can, I go to Auld Shebeen for shepards pie and a Guinness. The owner is usually at the front to greet you and you feel special wherever you sit. The live Irish bands are a treat each weekend.
