“When in doubt, follow the church crowd”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

We originally wanted to stop at Wilson's, but they are closed on Sundays so we stopped here instead. I had a good feeling about this place as soon as I saw the crowd. It was packed with churchgoers in their Sunday best. The food is served buffet-style and there are lots of dishes from which to choose. The pulled pork was great in the Carolina-style vinegar sauce. The fried chicken was juicy and flavorful. The mashed potatoes are homemade...really. Homemade mashed potatoes at a buffet! We loved pretty much everything we tasted except for the crab cakes which were deep fried and mostly filler. Oh, and save room for dessert because there's sweet and gooey pecan pie, apple cobbler, puddings, cakes and more. And if you've got kids or aren't necessarily into southern food, there are some basics like spaghetti, chicken strips and mac n cheese on the buffet. The price was reasonable, too. Just over 30 bucks for a family of three. Not bad for Plan B.

“what are people talking about?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

This place is awful. Tons of not so go good food, but the restaurant is nasty. The men's room was missing paper towels, so they were changed but the horrible condition of the room was untouched. In fact one toilet was not even bolted to the floor!

Not worth a visit.

“Others have no taste buds”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

The chicken is greasy, The BBQ is just roast pork, drowning in grease. BBQ is slow cooked and smoked. The Vegs, are all caned. The best thing they have is the coleslaw and pot roast. wife likes the spaghetti. And the deserts are the best thing they have. You want good food in Emporia, Logan's on Sothe main st. Only open 6am to 2 pm close Sun..Mondays is best fried Chicken in town , Get the cabbage yum yum.

“What a great meal!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

We were staying at the nearby Country Inn & Suites, and the desk clerk said good things about Carolina BBQ. She told the truth! Served buffet style, the food was the closest to down-home cooking I've had since I left home 50 years ago. There were dozens of selections of meat, poultry, vegetables, and desserts. I wanted to stay for hours and have some of everything, but couldn't eat another bite. Suggestion: Take just a small portion of many different dishes to get the full flavor of ALL the cooking.
