If you're traveling on I-95 and want to stop for breakfast or lunch near Quantico or Woodbridge, skip any of the fast food joints or big chains; instead, take US 1 through Dumfries. Harold & Cathy's doesn't look like much from the outside, and it's dated inside too. It's definitely a local place and regulars dominate, but travelers are more than welcome. There are always police cars and work trucks in the parking lot, so you'd expect the food to be good. And it is! Lots of typical sandwich shop items on the menu for breakfast and lunch only, and I don't think you can go wrong ordering any of them. You order and pay at the counter, find a seat, and a waitress will bring your food to your table. Oh, no credit cards. I've only paid by cash, but I think they may take checks too.
