“Recently renovated gem.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

This property has a sparkling new top to bottom renovation which is artsy and stylish. The rooms were well-appointed, with a good bed, good linens, and attractive furnishings. This particular Fairfield could easily pass for a more expensive brand in the Marriott hierarchy.

The location, while close to Dulles airport, isn't especially convenient to anything else, but no matter...Really good experience and good value.

This is a great place for park and fly. Recently stayed for one night, parked my car and they provided a shuttle to and from the airport. Very easy and no problem. I think they tack on about $10 extra onto the room rate for the park and fly. The only negative is that the web site for this hotel is a little screwy and I had difficulty finding the park and fly rate. I had to do a search for park and fly for Dulles airport and skip around the site to find the rate. Very difficult. Also, the hotel is listed as being in Dulles, VA, but the GPS has it in Sterling, VA. Go figure. Typical comfortable Marriott mattress and pillow, okay quick breakfast is complementary. There is some construction (I think they are building a Cracker Barrel) which will be a big plus. Currently you have to travel a little to find someplace to eat. There is a Wegman's about two miles away and that is good for picking up something to eat on the plane.

I stayed here when my flight was canceled at 11:30PM. When I arrive at the hotel at about 12:30 AM, I was tired and just wanted to get a room. The woman at the front desk was pleasant, helpful and quick to get me on my way to the room.

The breakfast started at 5AM so I was able to eat before catching the shuttle back to the airport.

The only negative was that I was given a handicap room and the there was no place to spread out toiletries.

I am a platinum Marriott elite. I am entitled to early & late check in at any Marriott. This hotel is trendy, clean & comfy except they have no shutle service beside the airport like other hotels at the area. they need this kind of service due to the location of the hotel wqhich is literary, in the middle of nowhere. An Exxon & a subway attached to it. If you got sick all of a sudden & you couldn't drive, theu will call a taxi for you!! I found that very weird cause other hotels take you anywhere within 3 to 5 miles away from the hotel. When I checked in early in the morning, 6 AM. The yound lady didn't know that it is OK for platinum members to do so koz they spent lots of money & time to be entitled to do so. the FD gentleman, I met before, offered to call a taxi for me when I mentioned that I need to go to any CVS to get my medicine!! Not a great serrvice, at least for me, as I am used to the best when it comes to any Marriott. The breakfast attendant was kind though. I won't come back or recommend.

I usually stay at the Marriott next to the airport but they were full this time. This Fairfield Inn is only a few minutes further and offered a more pleasant experience.

The airport shuttle was prompt and ran every 30 minutes in the morning. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Decor in lobby and room is more up-to-date and much cleaner than the airport Marriott.

The only downside at this time--no restaurants on the property or within walking distance. There is a small market pantry in the lobby with drinks and snacks and the front desk staff provided delivery menus for various restaurants which worked fine. A Cracker Barrel Restaurant is under construction next door and should be open in the next couple of months.

This hotel actually made me a little jealous. The new decor is very nice and very well done. The check in was fast and painless as well as checkout. There is only one small elevator which I feel is not enough for a hotel of this size. The rooms are very nice and clean. The tv channels take a very long time to change, but the picture quality is good. Wifi is fast and easy to connect to. The bed and towels were very plush and comfortable. Breakfast is large and enjoyable. However stay away from the scrambled eggs. They are so watered down and just feel like rubber. So overall a very nice stay.

As a result of its location, this is mostly geared to airport traffic. The hotel has a shuttle that takes people to and from the airport. I was here on other business and was actually about 20 miles from where I was conducting business, but this was one of the lowest rates for what seemed like a decent hotel. Hotel fit all my needs. Pool, fitness center, very average breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms. Dinner: will have to either order delivery or if you have transportation will have to drive 4-5 miles to Ashburn for restaurants. Paid under a 100 dollars for single.

Room Tip: ask for rooms around 101-105 as they are close to the side entrance.
