We stayed at Coolgreen B&B just before our hiking trip through the AT. They were really nice to open their house for us late in the evening without any bad looks towards us. The room was clean, cozy and inviting. It had a nice and big balcony where I could have sat to read for hours. Next morning Phyllis was busy preparing us breakfast with enthusiasm, telling us about the history of the house and the town, showing us the house, old pictures, and sharing with us her love for the place and surroundings. We took a little longer to pack our backpacks but they never rushed us out of the house. When we were saying our goodbyes, we asked where we could find a store to get the last few things we needed for our trip, but as it turns out the next store was many miles away, they asked what we needed and were extremely kind to provide us with what we needed right out of their pantry, I couldn't believe my eyes and felt blessed to have come across such nice couple. We said goodbye and parted on our little adventure. We left our rental car in a quiet dirt road where there was a parking area and when we came back to it, the first thing we noticed was that the driver's window was covered with a sheet of plastic, there was also a note inside from Phyllis and Ron saying that they drove by and saw we had left the window down, they took the time to tape plastic around it in order to keep the rain out... needless to say, our stuff had already been stolen by the time Phyllis and Ron got to the car, but their gesture made our mistake a little less bad than it could have been. I had always heard that every backpacker meets angels along their path, there is no doubt that Ron and Phyllis were among the angels we met on that trip. We will be forever grateful to them. Thank you so very much!
