“Newly renovated, clean, good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2012

Judging by the reviews, finding a satisfactory budget hotel in southwestern Virginia is not easy. Well, here it is. Our room was freshly painted, comfortable, and clean, with a microwave and a fridge. Breakfast was good, the standard items. The evening clerk was a bit brusque, but the morning clerk was very friendly. The hotel is not easy to find, being on one of the side roads off of a very confusing intersection, but in the budget category, it's worth the effort. Good walk-in rate available at HotelCoupons.com.

Stayed one night at this Super 8, checkin was quick and easy and girl behind the counter was very friendly. Room had a microwave/frig in it and the room was large enough to put the car in it if we could have done it and still had room left. Beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. There are many places to get a bite to eat in the area. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

Our front desk staff is friendly and try to make every guest feel as they are the only guest in the hotel. We try to set our hotel apart from the others going the extra mile to make your stay as wonderful as possible. Hope to see you again in your next travels.

This Super 8 has been renovated. The outside still looks like an older hotel, but the interiors have obviously been worked on.

The rooms are cozy with a small desk, TV, Dresser, 2 night stands, a microwave, mini-fridge, and (depending on the type of room) a bed. My bed was a fairly firm King size mattress with decent pillows. The bathrooms are small, but clean and comfortable. The shower head was pretty good, adjustable spray. The decor is modern, but minimalist. I kind of liked it.

The TV is a bit antiquated and bulky as it is not a flatscreen. The picture wasn't great, but serviceable. There was something wrong with the volume, though, as the background noise was really loud but the dialogue was really quiet. They have a full slate of channels including an HBO.

I didn't try the breakfast, but it looked like your typical Continental fare.

The staff was courteous and quick, no complaints there. I only stayed the one night, so I can't comment on the maid service, but the room upon my initial arrival was well maintained.

Room Tip: My AC unit was loud too, so combined with the TV volume issue I'd say avoid Rm 125

We returned to this hotel because of our first positive experience. Again we found the employees to be friendly and helpful. The room is spacious, clean and provides a refrigerator, microwave and TV with a good cable menu.

The breakfast is adequate for our needs but nothing fancy. You can't beat the price for what you get. It is also conveniently right off of the interstate, although far enough away to be quiet.

The only negative is the postage stamp sized towels provided. The mattress was very comfortable.

We stayed here one night while touring the Virginia mountains. Our room was very clean, comfortable and everything worked. The Three Li'l Pigs Barbecue is nearby and is a great place to have dinner. The motel's breakfast area the next morning was well stocked and clean. The price was very good and the AARP discount helped, too.

Room Tip: The motel is two-stories and has no elevator. If on the second floor, you'll have to lug your ba...

Beautifully appointed room, impecibly clean, very friendly and helpful front desk clerk. I didn't give it an excellent rating because the breakfast wasn't the best and the bed was a little hard for my taste, but I was only staying one night so it was no big deal. In a side note, I was traveling 1200 miles on this trip found the cheapest gas at this exit - an added benefit of stopping at this hotel.

I booked this at a commonly used booking site that ends with "z".com. I arrived at 11 PM to find they had me in a smoking room. I showed them my reservation form requesting a non-smoking room. The clerk blamed the booking site and said, "You must call them to get moved to a non-smoking room. It's their reservation." She did dial their number for me and they put me on hold for ten minutes. I was fed up. I hung up, went to my smoking room, slept five hours and left. I'll not use this chain or the booking service that ends in "z" again. Neither seems to understand what "Customer Care" means.
