“Cozy stay in cozy town.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2010

After parking in downtown Culpeper you don't have to move again. The Suites at 249 are right in the mix of great restaurants and shops. You can ride Amtrak in to town also, the depot is right acros from the hotel. Very clean and modern room with a nice balcony. When staying in the old town section of towns like Culpeper, you could be anywhere. You could be an hour from home or thousands of miles. Get out and explore!

My Mom, sister and I stayed in the spacious Sole Suite, which had two king-sized beds. It was a great room - modern decor, two flat screen TV's, big tile shower, complementary robes, soft, thick towels, double sinks and beds with down comforters/pillows and featherbeds. Luxurious details that were worth the extra money spent to stay here and the location - right on the main street with all the shops and places to eat. Eat at Sophie's - our meals were awesome and the prices were reasonable.

We were surprised to find such a well finished contemporary place in the heart of Virginia.
Stayed in La Terra and it was Very relaxing!!! Really nice steam shower and bath robes.
Great location ! Recommended by the owner of the Frenchman's Corner where you can find some great tasty treats and awesome baguettes made in NJ.

The rooms are well appointed with all of the best amenities, from the feather bed to the turkish towels, everything is elegant & comfortable. Wonderful bistros and coffee houses to fine dining and shopping are simply a stroll away. The entire stay was stress free and simply perfect.

We love the Suites at 249!!! My husband and I travel quite often and we have stayed in numerous luxury hotels, inns and B&B's and this one was one of our top 3, hands down!! We spent one night in the beautiful Terra suite. We had a late night arrival which was easily accommodated and we were also able to park right in front of the hotel.

Our room was beautifully decorated and so unique with tall ceilings, remote gas fireplace, lush bedding, HD flat screen TV, double sinks, oversized bathroom and steam shower with body sprays, numerous amenities, tall windows that actually open, private sitting balcony, and perfect window coverings. Our room was immaculate!! My husband often teases me about how i rarely seem relaxed in hotel rooms and wear shower shoes the entire time. :-) He was quite surprised to see me walking around barefoot while in our suite!

We turned the fireplace on upon arrival and the room was toasty in 15 minutes and perfect for a great nights rest, with no need for the available central heating. We loved the private balcony and the large windows in the balcony door, and at bedtime it was such a simple pleasure to see the tall, thick window coverings hanging neatly to the side of the door to be used for added privacy! Also, the dimming lamps allowed for my husband to rest comfortably, while i prepared things for the next day, not to mention adding to the romance and coziness of the room.

In hotels, my husband is usually saddled with ironing our clothes in the morning and has often experienced frustration with the epidemic of cheap irons facing hotels everywhere!! He gave the Suites at 249 high praise due to their decision to invest in a quality iron, allowing for a pleasant start to his day! Before leaving the next morning, my husband also walked across the street to the coffeehouse to find a nice array of gourmet breakfast foods, drinks and pastries.

The Suites at 249 is a "gem" in a unique town just a short drive south of DC!! We plan to return to enjoy the town and hotel more fully and highly recommend the boutique hotel for a luxury experience in a small town package!!

My husband and I spent a night in the Terra Suite at Thanksgiving. We were visiting my cousin in Brightwood. The room was awesome -- spotless clean, quiet (no outside or inside noise), comfortably and efficiently furnished, perfect constant temperature, and tastefully decorated. The big thing for me was how fresh and clean it smelled. I am allergic to smoke and to find a place that is "honestly" smoke free is not easy. The Suites do it right. The bathroom was out of this world. The steam shower and body jets were wonderful. The featherbed with down comforter and pillows was like being wrapped in a cocoon. Neither of us can remember ever having such a perfect night's sleep. The manager adjusted her schedule to ours and greeted us when we got there to make sure we had our keypad combination and show us where everything was. We are planning another trip in the spring. Can't wait to get back there.

This boutique hotel is beautiful - the photos on the website are very accurate! My husband and I are photographers and were scheduled to photograph a Culpeper wedding the weekend of a huge snowstorm, so we booked a room at the Suites at 249 in order to arrive before the snow started. The room was warm and cozy, and so gorgeous. There were other guests staying at the hotel, but our room was nice and quiet. The bed was a tiny bit squishy for our taste, but we removed the featherbed the second night and slept great. We couldn't have picked a better spot to be "stranded" during a blizzard!
