“Unexpected delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

Located in a newly gentrified portion of Culpeper, this hotel, (more like B&B without the breakfast), was an unexpected delight. Rooms were large and well decorated. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. We travelled with friends, so we were able to see their rooms too. We stayed in the Acqua suite. The bathroom had a large shower with steam. Our king bed was comfortable. Our suite included a small refrigerator, which was stocked everyday with bottled water, which was a nice touch. Close to Culpeper Amtrak station, but we never heard a train. Stores right down the street includes two wine shops, a cheese shop, upscale restaurants and delis.
I felt like we were living in a really short term apartment, rather than a hotel. There really is no front desk, but when asked, the management fixed a small problem we had after checking in. (The toilet continued to run after filling). It was fixed before we were back from dinner. The ONLY thing I would have liked to see is a good armchair for reading, rather than the lounge chair in the room.
I will definitely stay here if we return to Culpeper.

This is a very unique, cozy, not your run of the mill hotel. The room was very large, the bathroom was fantastic, loved the steam shower. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on. I would recommend it to everyone!

We made this at the last minute when another reservation turned out to be a disappointment, luckily there were a couple of rooms available on the spur of the moment. I was delighted by the well thought out interior design, huge showers, lots of space in the bathroom and bed area, nice TV and desk. Free Wifi and great AC, plus a gas fireplace if it had been cold enough. These were the downstairs rooms. The only source of concern was the lack of "bars" for holding onto in the immense shower, and the usual too close to the floor toilet. But every thing was CLEAN, and high ceilings. The bed was very comfortable, and the room, although next to some sort of parking/trash container area in back was quiet. That was probably the only room with windows facing the parking lot, but on a Sunday morning that didn't matter. There are no real coffee makers in the room, but there was some sort of machine I didn't try out. Next door is the "Raven" coffee shop, so its like part of the hotel, and there are plenty of restaurants on that street. I plan to come back and stay during the Christmas Holiday.

Room Tip: There is no elevator and the rooms downstairs are suitable for someone with disabilities to a certai...

Very comfortable, exactly as promoted.

I was caught out by the public holiday and dinner options were limited, but the coffee shop a few doors up was great for breakfast. The manager was very helpful.

The room was large (Sienna Suite) and a generous bathroom.

I will stay there again if in Culpeper.

This little boutique hotel is beautifully decorated and luxuriously outfitted from the extra large bathrooms to the fabulous bed! We stayed in the Violetta Suite and it was perfect for the summer. Cool black and white with violet touches. In a great location for all the wonderful shops and restaurants--go to Foti's for dinner! And we loved the coffee shop, Raven's Nest, and the cheese and wine shop, the Culpeper Cheese Company. A great getaway that is only a short drive from the DC area. We will definitely be back to try the other suites.

My wife and I celebrated her birthday at this wonderful boutique hotel. We stayed in the luxurious Acqua Suite which had a soothing and peaceful atmosphere in a decor of muted colors--pale blue and beige. The king bed was extremely comfortable in a spacious room with a large closet, a safe, a dresser, a desk and chair, a door to a private outdoor balcony, a fireplace and a stylish lounge sofa. There were plenty of plugs for electronic equipment and the lights and fixtures were easily accessible. The temperature of the room was easily controlled by a thermostat. The fan was directly over the bed, thus providing a refreshingly and continuously cool airflow, very welcome in the hot season. The highlight of the suite, though, was the huge bathroom with three large windows, conveniently equipped with full blinds to provide privacy when needed. There was an over-sized shower booth with a main top shower head and four water jets coming out from the side, thus giving a built-in water massage. We took a lot of showers in there! In the same structure was a steam bath faucet, turning it into a mini-sauna. On the other side of the bathroom was a large vanity area with two sinks, wall mirror, magnifying mirror, hair dryer and coffee maker. The room was so comfortable and peaceful that we didn't want to go out! Fortunately, if you do go out, there are plenty of interesting stores and fine restaurants within steps of the hotel. We were also there on a Saturday morning, when each week across the street is held a farmer's market, one of the best in the state with numerous, varied stalls. I can't imagine a better place to stay than this discrete hideaway, truly an accommodation to get away to for a romantic weekend.

Room Tip: Acqua Suite is quiet in the back of the hotel and has the best bathroom compared to the other suites...

My daughter and I were in Culpeper for a Hunter-Jumper horse show and wanted to stay at a clean, comfortable, updated spot.....luxury was a must after a day at the show! I am a "hotel snob" and like great bedding and luxury bathrooms! We found it at Suites at 249! We will definately stay here again!!!

Room Tip: loved the Sole suite...two king beds and great bathroom and closets!
