“Comfort in Culpeper”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Culpeper is a quaint town in VA with a terrific Main Street well worth visiting. The Best Western was a great place to hang our hat during our visit. The room was clean, the location convenient, and the staff very, very nice.

For a highway motel this place has a nicer than average setting, with a large and pleasant pool area surrounded by grass and motel rooms. However as other reviewers reported, the room aircon makes a loud whistling sound when it cycles on. Plus we had a bizarre problem -- the room TV kept turning on at random. I thought I had finally fixed it when I turned the set off using the switch on the TV (instead of remote control). Imagine the rude surprise of being awakened at 3am when the TV decided to turn on by itself again. Finally the free breakfast was worth less than the price: awful, dry, tasteless described everything. Better to go 2 miles to "downtown" Culpeper, where there are decent cafes and bakeries.

Room Tip: Check aircon noise before you settle in room. Unplug TV before going to sleep! Avoid motel breakfa...

This was the first night of trip. Breakfast was very good. Had no problems outside of finding the hotel. The roads are under construction making it hard to get to at this time. Air conditioner sounded like a jet motor starting up and stopping.

With new decoration in rooms and upgraded services to include a free hot and cold breakfast bar and expanded outdoor pool patio, this motel is a very good value for the money. The personnel we encountered at front desk, breakfast room, and maid service were all polite, friendly, and helpful.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was dated, furniture dated. Air conditioner VERY loud. There were flies in the room. Saw a couple of ants and a spider in the bathroom. The free breakfast was good - fresh. The courtyard is pretty. Sat at the pool to read the paper. Didn't use the pool, but it looked very nice. Only stayed one night. If we would have stayed another night would have requested a different room - quieter air conditioner and no insects.

While visiting a fellow Vietnam Veteran from Culpeper, we stayed at the Best Western. Rooms were clean, nicely furnished, comfy bed and there was a flat screen TV, microwave and fridge, coffeemaker and hair dryer. They had a wonderful breakfast buffet which offered a variety of hot and cold items. We received coupons for the buffet upon check-in. Nicely groomed grounds and pool area and friendly staff. Plenty of parking and easy access to the highway. We will stay there again when we go back to visit my Army brother.

Stayed at 3 different Best Westerns on a recent trip. This was by far the best. Clean, updated, very comfortable, and the best free breakfast buffet of the entire 2 week (6 hotel) trip. Don't hesitate to stay here.
