“Gorgeous falls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

Beautiful and easy to find, wish we could have hiked it from below. Gorgeous views of the valley, great parking, and safe walk along the mountain road.

“Falling springs Falls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

What wonderful surprise!! We were on our way home from Wv, and happened to see the falls. It is gorgeous! These are right on Rt 220 just North of Covington, Va. They are particularly good for those who are unable to make the hike that is required to see most falls. There's room for several cars to park on the roadside, and a short walk along a path beside the highway. You have a great view of the falls from above them. There's also a few picnic tables, and a path down to the river. There is some information about them also. A real gem!!

“Wow”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013 via mobile

I set out with the plan of hiking to 2 falls and catching this one at the overlook. Due to rain, this was the only one I was able to visit. Worth the trip imo.

the boards at the parking area tell some of the history of the falls. Apparently they used to fall 200ft before a lime mining company had to *relocate* them to where they are today....falling 80ft. Wish I knew how to visit/see where they originally were located.

there is a sketchy path that leads down to the falls. I'm pretty sure its suppose to be for drainage purposes from the road but foot traffic has beaten down a path along the rocks. I may have ventured down like the other 2 people I saw had it been dry.

“Spectacular Falls - Too bad it is not accessable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

An absolutely breathtaking view overlooking the falls. Unfortunately there is a very small pull - off along rout 220 and there is only one place to really view the falls and there is not a safe walk along rout 220 to see it. Also there is no other spot to view the falls. No way to the bottom of the falls or overlook above the falls. So snap your picture and get back in the car and head on down the road. If this was in Japan it would be a local treasure and a park developed around it.

“Awesome”

great view from the top and the bottom. Just getting to the bottom is dangerous unless you know the right people to come in from the lower end
