“A fabulous place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2014

The Oaks Victorian Inn is the finest bed and breakfast in southwest Virginia, if not in the entire state. This historic home is immaculate, in beautiful condition, and the owners (who live on-site in the third-floor garret) are warm, hospitable, and knowledgable. Linda, the hostess, puts out a delicious breakfast in a sunny room in which all guests have an opportunity to meet and mingle during the three-course breakfast. We have stayed at The Oaks four or five times over the last 12 years and have never been disappointed.

Room Tip: We especially like the Julia Pierce Room, front corner room on the second floor.

A lovely room on the first floor, Inn is located in a residential neighborhood in a beautiful setting. Very spacious, immaculate, nicely appointed. Owners were very regimented when we first checked in with a list of do's and don'ts, but were nothing but congenial the next morning at breakfast, which was delicious. I would stay here again, and highly recommend it to others.

Room Tip: First floor room is spacious. Accessing B&B from parking area, up incline and a few stairs, the...

Thank you for choosing The Oaks Victorian Inn. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay. When welcoming guests to our home, we do let them know that there is no smoking in the house or burning of candles in the rooms and we ask that the front door is locked when leaving for the day/evening and coming in for the night. The house is a 120+ years old and we want all of our guests to be comfortable and safe. We look forward to seeing you again…Linda and Bernie

My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. The Inn was beautiful and the hospitality was the best we have ever seen. The entire place was very clean and cozy filled with charm. We can't wait to come back and we consider this the Best Bed and Breakfast ever.

My wife and I had the opportunity to stay at The Oaks. We've stayed at many B&B's and this one is at the top of the list! A beautiful property, well appointed rooms, great history and wonderful inn keepers. The breakfast was the best we've ever experienced at any B&B. And, it was an experience, not just breakfast. If you are anywhere near Christiansburg, VA, this is the place to stay!

Room Tip: Every room we viewed was awesome. They even have a separate cottage with a loft bed if you want extr...

So happy you enjoyed your stay at The Oaks. We try to make every guest's stay special. Funny you should title your review "Hidden in Christiansburg" as we have been exploring and finding hidden gems within an hour in every direction from the B+B. Watch for our blog on our new website coming sometime late spring. I'll tell you all about them. Hope to see you again soon

We stayed two nights at The Oaks Victorian Inn over the Christmas break. It is beautiful! We loved the garden cottage with the hot tub on the porch. If you're considering a stay in the cottage, the queen bed is in a small loft that you get to by ladder. We loved it!

The inn is gorgeous with beautiful, well-appointed rooms. The hospitality is warm, the food is wonderful. We'd go back in a heartbeat! (Thank you, Linda, for making your recipes available through your cookbook!)

My husband and I prefer to stay at B&B's. Why stay at a dime-a-dozen chain hotel when you can meet terrific folks - both hosts and guests - at a unique B&B. But of all the B&B's we have stayed at around North America, this one - hands down - tops all the others. The home is exquisite, the breakfasts sumptuous, and Bernie and Linda are wonderful hosts. The thoughtful attention to all the extra little details is the icing on the cake. It has been 3+ years since we were there and we dearly hope to one day pass that way again! (Tripadvisor insists I selects a travel date, but doesn't go back far enough, so I picked the oldest possible option. Actual visit was May, 2010 and I still think about our wonderful stay there!)

That's so sweet that after 3 1/2 years you still have fond memories of us. We had only owned The Oaks for a month when you stayed with us and we were just starting to get the hang of innkeeping. So much has happened since then. We've done some redecorating, discovered lots more things to do in the area and we just published our cookbook "Inn-dulgences Culinary Delights from The Oaks Victorian Inn Bed and Breakfast" We hope you can stop by next time you head south.
