“Wonderful Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

After driving all day we were dreading yet another disgusting meal at a chain "restaurant." But the clerk in our motel recommended Due South. We would have missed it if I hadn't caught sight of the piggy pink catering van parked out front. Great pulled pork, wonderful sauces, incredible sides, friendly, helpful folk at the register: If you're on I-81 in Virginia, you MUST get off and eat here.

“Awesome Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013 via mobile

Great BBQ and great value. Get in early if you want baby back ribs. I got the last 1/2 rack at 7:00. Plenty of sauce selections. Live music made the atmosphere.

“Amazing food, great value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013 via mobile

Everything i had here was amazing. The pulled pork sandwich (with an assortment of great sauces to choose fron) was delicious, but the sweet potato casserole really made the meal. We even took a pint to go! The banana pudding was also superb.

“Skip the Chains & Eat Here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Wonderful local place! Place your order at the counter, grab a seat and enjoy the live music! Convenient stop off of 81. BBQ is good & the sauces are terrific! What makes the meal are the sides! The sweet potato casserole, apple dish and the Mac N Cheese very good. Next time would Probably skip the fried green tomatoes & try the beans or the potato salad. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are 'normal' size. Quick service. Skip Mickey D's & the other chains and eat here. Noticed Due South supports the community, purchases locally and uses compostable products! All the more reason to eat here!

“Really good BBQ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

My husband and I love going to Due South for the BBQ. It is far better than the other BBQ places around where we live (including Smokey Bones). The atmosphere is very...casual. Mismatched booths, self serve drinks, order at the counter, paper towels and sauces on the table kinda place.
The best deal for your money is to go on Tuesday nights when you get all you can eat pulled pork for $9.99. But be warned, the college kids love this deal too! The last time we went it was standing room only and people were not in a hurry to leave. But this only reflects on how good the bbq is. The sides are ok...slow cooked green beans, apples, mac n cheese, fried green tomatoes, french fries, coleslaw are all served in little paper trays. On Tuesday night you can get new sides with each new plate of pulled pork so it is a good time to try them all!
I would highly recommend that you give this little place a try!
