“Excellent all around!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012 via mobile

We saw the positive reviews and decided to stop on our way from Virginia to Georgia. What a great choice! When we walked through the door we were greeted by love music that had a Frank Sinatra/Gene Kelly sound and quality.

We prdered pulled pork sandwiches, a few sides, and some fried pickles. All of the food was delicious! We sampled several sauces and all were tasty.

Before we got back on the road everyone took a trip to the bathroom, and what fun that was! Piggy pink with great decor!

To close the evening the musician played Singin In The Rain, which brightened up the bleary, rainy night, then Happy Trails as a send off.

We would definately stop at this friendly, hometown restaurant again!

“Great BBQ just off US 81 in VA.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

This little Ma and Pa type of joint is just what I look for when on the road and need to eat. On a road trip from Atlanta to DC we discovered this place and loved it! I had the baby back ribs which were delicious with a sweet glaze; literally falling off the bone the meat was moist and had a nice crust. In fact I found the bones simply pulled right out, leaving you with a succulent "boneless rib steak" which you could eat w/ a fork. My wife had the pulled pork which was also very good, moist and not overly seasoned. They also serve beef brisket and smoked chicken which is described as "Seasoned, smoked & crisped in the deep fryer" which I didn't try, but would love to. The hush puppies were yummy and so were the fried green tomatoes. Njoy!

“Good BBQ, Bluegrass music, great decor!”

This was a fun stop for us! The BBQ was excellent, staff was pleasant, and the live bluegrass music was a bonus. Must see stop!

“Good Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

Small local place recommended by hotel staff and ranked highly by previous Trip Advisor visitors. The food was good but I have had much better. The prices were high based on what you get. All of the sauces I tried were very good and I recommend combining the hot, sweet red, sweet brown, and yellow sauces.

“Quite good, not special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

This is a small place, with a few plates in the menu. The meat (they do not serve steak) is OK, even if it is not particularly tasty. A place where to go, just once.
