I stayed in this motel to visit my niece for Family Weekend at Va. Tech, where she is a Freshman student. Your fine motel chain should not lend its good name to this facility. I have stayed at Days Inn facilities before, and they have been clean and well kept. In this place, the room was not clean, with someone's hair on the pillow case and throughout the bathroom, including the sink area! The sheets appeared but marginally clean, so I slept on top of the bedspread in fear of bedbugs or perhaps even lice! My door would not close properly unless you put your shoulder to it; that also made it difficult to exit the room. No, I did not complain, because the entire facility gave a "uniform" substandard experience, and there were no rooms elsewhere to be had that weekend. In my room, the mattress was so old and used as to be lumpy and soft; in the morning it rewarded me with a stiff back! The office/kitchen area was dirty, and the food was semi-stale. The coffee was spilled on the counter, and no one present to clean it up. Also, the coffee was cold, and tasted as if it had been hot, then allowed to cool, then reheated, and allowed to cool again. Many of the motel's common areas were dirty, or even filthy, such as the laundry room and vending areas. I guarantee you, if you send a corporate representative in to inspect the place on an unannounced basis, you'll discover that what I say is true. The clerk tried to overcharge me for the room by a couple of dollars, but I'd printed my confirmation and he then honored the room price.
