“Best Hotel in Christiansburg VA”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013 via mobile

Checked in Labor Day weekend to Econo Lodge christiansburg VA. Normally stay at Holiday Inn but the hotel was sold out. We had a nice clean room with a king bed with a free breakfast for $50 can't beat the price. Ruby Tuesday's next door. Waffle House out front. We will start staying here for all football games the prices are way better for a clean room you have to stay at this location in VA.

The rooms were filthy, insect infected and the smells were appalling. They showed me another room and it was worse. The manager excuse regarding the number of insects was that it was spring and that we should expect insects in all of the rooms. Based on the odors in the rooms it would certainly attract flies and other types of Insects.

This was the worse room that I have ever seen and I certainly wouldn’t stay at that Hotel. We never took our luggage out of the truck of the car. We made the reservation from chain’s web site and were expecting a clean room for three days.

The manager/franchise holder, Kabir Uddin, was simply taking advantage of out of town visitors who were in the area for graduation weekend at VT. After his statement to us of a full refund of the reservation he instructed the front desk to only give us half. I contacted the Hotel HQ Comfort Inn and their excuse was that the Hotel was franchise license and they had no control over Mr. Uddin’s actions or the condition of the Hotel.

Room Tip: Do stay here

Awful smelling room; wanted to air out, but the place was full of flies. They put out the worst breakfast I've ever seen; no fruit, two choices of bread; ricecrispies or cornflakes, and a custard filled donut. Also I had an achy back after a night in the poor quality old bed.

Room Tip: Keep looking for a hotel, you don't want to stay here.

Pictures look good on website, but they are a lie. Rented two rooms for business. One room was smelly like cat urine. Tv took forever to work. Bath tub in my room wouldn't drain while taking shower. There were sweet ants crawling around randomly. It was moldy under the sinks againtst the wall. It's cheap but you get what you pay for! Horrible and dirty.

Room was clean & comfy. Housekeeper, Sandy, found a coffee pot for our room. The wi-fi was a little wonky. The floor lamp bulb was burned out, one bedside lamp had no place to plug in. The breakfast "claim to fame" is 3 kinds of Krispy Kreme donuts. No eggs, no fruit, only one kind of bread and a small toaster.

We were here for an event and stayed three nights. My room was clean, the bed was comfy, the bathroom redone. Can't complain. It looks like the bad reviews, and there are a lot, are old. Maybe it changed management? I don't know but I would stay again.

Our room was very clean and fresh smelling, the bed was comfortable, and they put us in the back building that was designated for pet owners. There is a large, grassy field behind the hotel that was great for walking our dog. The continental breakfast provided hot and cold cereal, choices of juice, a variety of breads and pastries, and very good coffee. The desk staff could not have been more accommodating. By using my Choice Hotels and AAA memberships, the room was extremely affordable.

Room Tip: Select back building if you have a pet.
