“Very nice, quiet, and clean.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2014

Just got back today, and had to write a review. We weren't expecting much based on some reviews on other sites, but it was a wonderful place to stay. Very quiet at night. Mattresses are soft and rooms are appointed nicely. Everything was very clean. We didn't use any of the other amenities, but appreciated the rooms and the location. Stayed in room 122, very nice and close parking.

Thank you so much for staying with us at our little slice of heaven! We also love the parking right outside the rooms when we travel to other establishments. We hope you had a good time walking down Main Street to the unique shops. We would love for you to come see us again.

When traveling we like to support local businesses. Lauren and Ben are lovely hosts; kind and hard working.
We had a pet friendly room complete with tile floors, comfy beds, a flat screen tv, small fridge and microwave.
But the best part?
It was spotless!
A little pool, grassy area, and screened in gazebo for all to share makes this place a keeper.
While we occasionally enjoy a luxury hotel, you're not going to find it here or anywhere on this island.
What you will find is a laid back, good vibe kind of place that involves driving thru a National Wildlife Refuge to swim in the Atlantic Ocean. You may see wild horses, a variety of birds, and even local artists painting the beauty along the way.
We love this island and recommend The Lighthouse Inn.

Thank you for your review of The Lighthouse Inn. We hope you and your sweet dogs come back and stay with us again! And yet, I hope you don't have to stay with us, because hopefully you'll have your own place close by to call home! (But until then, you know where to find us!!)

My wife and I spent two nights at the Lighthouse Inn in Chincoteague the weekend after Labor Day, as a last minute getaway. We are budget travelers but like to stay at independent properties when possible. The Lighthouse Inn fit our needs.

The property changed ownership earlier in spring and is now run by a young couple. The wife checked us in on arrival and was very welcoming and cheerrful. She enthusiastically gave us information we needed about the island and shared great tips on dining options.

The property has two wings - one attached to the office and the other across the street with two levels, where our room was located on the upper level. Our room was a basic 1-Queen room with a coffee maker and a fridge. The room and bathroom were extremely clean with a comfortable mattress and what seemed to be new sheets and towels. Though the furniture was dated, the walls had fresh paint, the carpet was clean, and the AC worked well. The water pressure was great and the hot water was plentiful. The WiFi is free. Even though our room was close to the street we could not hear any vehicular noise in the room.

The location is on Main Street, a quick short walk to historic downtown and 5 miles from the beach via the main drag through town. The property has a small pool and a barbeque area (like a screened in porch to keep the bugs away) with a grill for guests' use, and some outdoor seating on the lawn to enjoy a glass of wine.

The new owners are friendly and engaging. They are trying hard to give the property their touch and have plans to make improvements slowly.

If you are looking for fancy upscale lodging with tons of amenities, then this is not the place for you. If you are looking for nice, clean budget accommodation and an independent property then this is a great place to stay. Highly recommended it!

This family run hotel exudes the pride of its owners (who also live onsite year round). The rooms are very clean, WiFi is fast (and free), and the location is perfect- a 3 minute walk to the historic downtown center. Nice pool and BBQ area was a bonus.
