“Rocket launch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Saw the rocket launch on Wallops in front of this museum. Inside has great info about the local area as well as Misty of Chincoteague.

“We had fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

We've been going to Chincoteague for 34 years so have gotten out of doing the touristy things. This trip we decided to do some of them and were so glad we did. We went to this little museum which is right at the bridge on Maddox before you go over to Assateague. It was a $3 admission fee and well worth it. There is a treasure trove of Chincoteague history here from a light house lantern to Misty herself and everything in between.
They had a little scavenger hunt you could participate in which we enjoyed and it's small enough that you aren't going to spend hours here. There are restrooms (which to me are in short supply in a lot of places on the island) so if you are coming off of assateague you can rest easy about that. The parking was plentiful and the staff was helpful and pleasant.
We really enjoyed and would recommend this. I think it would be a little old for toddlers but children maybe 6 and up might enjoy it.

“MUST DO !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

This has rotating exhibits. This month was about the old seafood business (shucking houses and oyster harvesting) . We loved it.
The museum is so professionally done. A must do.

“Awesome experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

This museum is small, but filled with all kinds of good stuff! We (especially my 6 year old son) loved the scavenger hunt. It had us noticing things that we would have looked over otherwise. There are truly some great exhibits here. Don't miss this on your trip!

“Good Things Come in Small Packages”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

This museum used to be called the Oyster Museum, but it's so much more than that. It's very nicely done, with interesting docents and optional activities to help engage audiences. You'll learn something and have fun at the same time!
