“Pleasant stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

We were very pleased with our accommodations on the charming Main Street of Chincoteague. The hotel was clean and our room was very welcoming with two queen beds, seating area, large screen TV, small refrigerator, and microwave. Also iron, ironing board, hair dryer, etc. Be sure to get a room with a balcony overlooking the cove between the island and the mainland. The breakfast choices were also very good. Two swimming pools (indoor and outside) were nice options. If you go out of the main business area and over to Assateague Island, be SURE to take bug spray . . . lots of mosquitos! Beach on Assateague is nice and you may see wild ponies on the way.

Room Tip: If you want to be considered for AARP or AAA discount, be sure to go through the Comfort Inn website...

My family along with the in- laws stayed here for a week and as I titled my review it is fine for a place to lay your head at night. When we arrived there was no greeting from Linda, she actually acted bothered to be checking us in. She does not have the personality to be a receptionist. You want to feel welcomed and felt like the employee is doing all they can for you. Not until our last evening and day we left did that happen with the housekeeper(she didn't have a name tag) andNicole at the front desk answered questions we has about certain local establishments, even calling places. The breakfast was the typical breakfast with hot items, pastries, cereal, waffle makers and coffee and juice to drink. Very disappointed with the fact there was no change with the hot items. One day it was sausage and circular egg and the next day was sausage and scrambled eggs and it continued that way the whole week. More of a change with breakfast would be better, like fried potatoes, bacon, ham. Just a change and not the same thing every day. The one day I tried to eat cereal I couldn't because it was stale! The a/c never stayed on the temp we set it to, so we would return from the beach and the room would be hot. The game room was okay, my son used it one day we were there and 4 of 5 games worked. The games need to be updated and more choices. We didn't use the indoor pool because you couldn't even breath it was so hot in there and because of that the outdoor pool was always busy! The location is nice as you can walk to a lot of things. I would stay here again but only if I was unable to find other accommodations

Our family of 5 stayed here for three nights in August 2012. Very clean and comfortable. Lots of staff circulating to take care of the interior and exterior. Two pools for the kids to enjoy after a day at the beach. This hotel sits on Main Street which I thought was a nicer, quieter area than the busy street leading to the beach but still just a short 10 minute drive to beach. Extremely overpriced (hence the 4 stars) but since there are many more options for lodging, some of which may not be as comfortable, I guess they can get away with the price.

Room Tip: We had a balcony overlooking canal. It was nice to be able to sit out there, nice sunset view.

We made last minute plans to visit the beach at Assateague and this was literally the only place that had a room available. That is probably because they are the most expensive. We paid about $585 for two nights for a king suite with a jacuzzi tub. I paid it though so I guess that is why they get away with charging that much. Anyway, our stay was very nice. The front desk staff was very nice and for the first time that I can remember, the housekeeping staff went out of their way to make us happy. Our housekeeper changed our sheets without us asking, which almost never happens at a hotel and when I passed her in the hallway, she asked me when we wanted her to stop by to clean the room. The hospitality at this hotel is somewhat of a marvel.
The view of the bay is very nice and having your own balcony is definitely a perk. There are ducks galore on the property which really made for a fun time with the kids. They have a boardwalk down by the bay that you can walk along. We went to the outdoor pool (there is an outdoor and indoor pool) and it was nice and clean.
The breakfast was good. The typical Comfort Suites fare. Belgian waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, cereals, yogurts, danishes, hard boiled eggs, muffins, etc. It was presented nicely. It did get a little crowded on Saturday morning though as the hotel was completely full.
The room was in great shape and the bed was comfortable. The Jacuzzi tub was a nice touch in the evenings after the kids went to bed.
If you are in the same boat we are in and the Comfort Suites is the last thing available, book it! If you are planning in the future and there are cheaper options, look into those, but either way, if you have the money, you can't go wrong here.

Hadn't been to the island for the ponies since I was a child. Went with a friend for an alternative to the Ocean City crowd. We got the last room left for the time frame we wanted during poy week, and was pleasantly surprised with how very nice the accomodations were. The breakfast was great for this vegetarian ;0) they had make your own belgian waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereals, bagels, and there was fresh coffee available 27/7. Staff was very friendly and gave recommendations for dinner, cruising, etc. We went to Assoteague Island every day and lounged on the beach. All in all a very nice stay and would go again ;0)

Room Tip: Top floor units have a better view of the water.

The room was very clean, with a nice view of the bay. The air conditioning unit was very loud and woke me several times during the night. Complimentary breakfast was awful, but you get what you pay for.

Very nice room with outstanding view of the bay. The room was exceptionally clean and the hotel was very quiet, even though all the rooms were full. Complementary breakfast was average with basic choices, but was served from 6 to 11 am which was nice. The front desk was extremely helpful, recommending restaurants and answering all of our questions. Would stay there again.
