“One of the Best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2012

We decided to visit Chincoteague for a Birthday celebration for my wife. I made the reservation on line for under $80 per night and asked them to wish her a "Happy Birthday" upon checkout. They not only wished her well but posted the Birthday wish on their message board and upgraded our room. The front desk staff were always attentive and friendly throughout the weekend stay.

The room on the third floor was clean, comfortable and had a great view of Chincoteague inlet. The construction of the building affords a water front view to every room. The "suite" has two separate areas. There is a sleeping area on one side and a sitting/living area on the other side separated by a half wall. The room is somewhat larger than a regular hotel room but smaller than a large suite. The beds and especially the pillows were very comfortable. The balcony was large enough where two people could spend the time overlooking watching the sunset over Chincoteague Bay. There are not many placed in the Eastern USA where you can watch the sunset over the water.

The entire hotel is smoke free. There are even signs posted on every balcony prohibiting smoking. Many hotels prohibit smoking in the rooms but allow smoking on balconies. That makes it difficult for non smokers to enjoy the balcony of their room. Not this hotel, it is 100% smoke free.

This hotel ranks with the Inn at Christmas Place In Tennessee and the Amishview Inn in Lancaster, PA as my favorites in the entire country. All three know how to treat guests the right way!

Room Tip: The higher rooms give you a better view of the sunset.

My husband and I came to Chincoteauge for the New Year's weekend to get away and have some fun. He had reserved at the Comfort Suites and we were not disappointed. The room was comfortable with plenty of room to spread out, a sitting area adn a comfortable bed. When we first arraive we were greeted warmly and with humor. There was a good breakfast spread in the morning which was kept well replenished, and coffee and fruit available during the day. The hotel is located on the Main Street and has easy access to many good restaurants and shops. We will return here in then future

The hotel is close to downtown activities and you can walk to most of the downtown restaurants. Each room has a view of the back-bay, but most are somewhat restricted. However, the sunsets are gorgeous. The location is also an easy bike ride into the Refuge. A nice touch here is the juice and coffee is available 24/7. The morning breakfast is a bit mundane, but it is included with the room. It is on par with other hotels in the area, which we've been to. The rooms are very clean and the pool area is as well. The last time we were there, the hot tub was vcery foamy. I think it was because they just had work done on the air-jets and some of the chemicals used to clean up the cement got into the tub. While not overly pleasant, it didn't detract from using it without the bubbles. This not the norm at this location. All-in-all, it is convenient to the National Seashore and the prices are reasonable.

We spent 2 nights in early November and it was the perfect place for us. Close to everything, friendly staff, and pretty decent breakfast. The guests were friendly, too! We enjoyed biking and touring Assateauge during the day and the hotel pool and hot tub were perfect to return to to enjoy the evening. There is a small game room which I think is overpriced but the staff were more than happy to refund our money when one game ate our quarters. The room was plenty big enough for mom, two teen boys, and a little girl with the couch flipped out to a bed.

The hotel is excellent with attentive staff, good morning offering and spectacular views. Winter is an great time to bird watch from the Soundside balcony or take a short drive to the Wildlife Refuge.

Room Tip: All rooms are on the Sound!

Very nice hotel with great value for the price. Very friendly at front desk. Hotel room was very big with a sofa. Pretty good view could be better however there are other things that make up for it.

I stayed here with 2 adults and 3 children in the winter and it was perfect. The indoor pool and hot tub provided something for the kids to do. Hotel staff was friendly. We actually forgot two coats in the room when checking out and the maid came out to the parking lot to give them to us.
