“Very nice spot on the channel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2011

We stayed 2 nights here. Our room was on the 1st floor with a balcony overlooking the channel. There were 4 of us and the room is fine for a short trip. The room had 2 Queen beds with a small sitting area and a table. Some ducks adopted us and slept on the grass off our deck and hung around looking for food. There are 2 pools-indoor and out. We only used the outdoor pool, which was very nice. The air conditioner turns on when the temperature rises and it is very loud. You can walk into town as it is less than a 1/2 mile. The breakfast buffet was the usual. It opened at 6:00 am which was great because on our last day we left by 7:00. Overall it was a nice place to stay.

Had a sisters getaway, 6/06/11. Had a great time, loved the hottub. Went and got massages at In Tune Massage Therapy! Awesome. Very relaxed for the rest of the day spent on the local beach. The staff at the hotel were so nice and helpful. Thank You night shift for a job well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Comfort Suites is located on Chincoteague Island's Main street. Our room overlooked the channel and island/marsh on the otherside. We were serenaded all day long with laughing gulls and ducks as they wizzed outside our deck with amazing speed and agility. The room was good-sized, although small for a suite. But it had a frig, microwave, and coffee maker. It also had a desk, couch and comfortable lounge chair. The deck had room enough for 2 chairs and a small table. The hotel had an indoor and outdoor pools and indoor spa that were good sized. It also had a large sun deck. These all were on the backside of the hotel that faced the channel and marsh, and had beautiful sunsets as all the rooms face West. Breakfast was above average for a free continental breakfast. It also included waffles and eggs which varied every day. The staff was helpful and friendly. My only negative was the way the hotel charges for the use of the safe. They charge you and you have to "Catch It, If You Can" when you check out and ask them to reverse the charge. Overall it is a beautiful location for the hotel that is within easy walking distance of all the shops and restaurants on Main Street. We will be sure to return again when we visit Chincoteague.

Stayed in late May/early June with family in two rooms. Rooms were a good size. We had rooms right in the middle (either side of elevators), which seemed to give us a little extra storage space. "Living space" was fine - there is a low wall separating the bed area from the rest. Note these are NOT two-room suites with doors between them. View of the bay was good, balcony nice. The room was fairly quiet. The room was clean although a bit worn in places. There are two pools, one indoor and one outdoor. They are fine but a little small. The service was good - the staff was polite, addressed a couple of minor requests quickly, etc.

A few minor issues: (1) the TV's in the rooms were poor - one had to be 20 years old; (2) the elevator was SLOW; (3) the breakfast they put out on a weekend was fine, but on the less-busy weekday it was lacking (they put out very few items).

The location was good. There are a couple of restaurants and shops within walking distance. You can drive to everything else within 5 minutes, pending traffic. The views from this hotel seemed better than the Hampton Inn that is next door, but I'm guessing at this. The parking lot is big enough for everyone even when busy.

Overall very good - I would stay there again.

I stayed here for three weeks as part of a Navy training course at nearby Wallops Island, so I have had a lot of time to observe this great hotel in action. They consistently met or exceeded all expectations of service, comfort and cleanliness. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding and offered a comprehensive array of choices of hot foods, breads, pastries, yogurt, specialty coffees and fruit.

Great indoor pool, weight room, great laundry facilities, and a super view from all rooms of the beautiful salt marshes and tidal wetlands on the "back side" of Chincoteague Island. The rooms and lobby area appear to have been recently redecorated, with current fixtures, paint, bedding, and carpet throughout.

Though I was here on a business trip, I would definitely recommend this hotel for vacations of either couples on a getaway, or families with children. The hotel has several recently earned service excellence awards displayed throughout the lobby and hallways, and my experience here confirms that those kudos are well deserved.

We stayed at the Comfort Suites Chincoteague in late August/early September 2010. The hotel has a great location with (mostly) great views. Our room was on the bottom floor with a view over the swimming pool. We didn't mind too much because we didn't do anything in the hotel but sleep, spending our days on the Assateague beach. We had a suite with two large beds for four people. With four people it was cramped but for two people it would have been very spacious. Breakfast was great with waffles, bagels, cereal and many other choices of foods. We would stay there again.

We stopped off on our way back from Baltimore. Staff very helpful. Beakfast was good. Waffels, eggs, ceral etc.
We rented the room with the hot tub outstanding. Great veiws. Wished it would of been warmer but still had a great time.
Ate at Bill's down the street food worth checking out. Service very good, fresh baked bread. Also check out the Osprey Nest Gallary on Main St. very interesting place. Bought some nice pictures of the Pony Penning. Kevin is great. Came to see the snow geese but they were not there yet.
Gosh I guess we have to go back. Yes.
