“Wonderful BBQ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

This is a very casual restaurant with great food. You eat outside or stand out at an outdoor table. It is relatively inexpensive because you serve yourself at the counter. A nice change when you get tired of seafood

“Jimmy buffet is everywhere!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

We were taking a drive because we were bored after the rocket launch at Wallops island had been scrubbed. We came upon this mish mash of buildings covered with a variety of eclectic decorations. It piqued our curiosity so we stopped. The smell of the ribs on the BBQ was mouth watering and the atmosphere was friendly. There were kitschy little seating ares and things like volleyball and a giant tic tac toe game to play. Bring cash or a check because they don't take credit cards. There is an ATM on site. Woody called out our name and brought the food out to us. Mouthwatering BBQ'd ribs falling off the bone-YUM! Baked beans and coleslaw as sides and a variety of eclectic sodas in a vintage cooler-this place is one to go to-I can imagine it's swamped in the summer. Worth going!

“Good island BBQ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

I couldn't call this the best barbecue I've ever had, but it's very good and much better than I was anticipating. Being on a business trip, I generally try the local flavor (in Chincoteague's case, seafood). But after four straight days of seafood, I wanted something different. My menu option was the Woody's "something" (special? favorite?) - a pulled pork sandwich with red sauce and onion rings, on top of which I opted in for cole slaw. It was all very good, messy (as expected), and a good value for the amount of food - the sandwich itself was between 1/2 a pound to a full pound. The red sauce is much sweeter than I generally like, but it isn't overly sweet or sugary so even a spicy bbq sauce lover like myself still enjoyed it. The onion rings on top of the pork where good, and made the sandwich plenty more messy, but I could have done without them. This place is a great option if you craving some bbq, but be fore-warned it is pretty much standing room only.

“Rustic, stylish, delicious, addictive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

When a restaurant becomes a landmark within months of opening, you know that they're doing something right. When there's a line a dozen people long 15 minutes before they open every day, you know they're doing something right. When the owner steps out from behind the grill, behind a mop, or behind the service window with a huge smile on his face every day, you know he's doing something right.
Woody's food is awesome, but it's only 1/2 the reason to stop here. These guys have a lot of fun at this restaurant, and it's as contagious as the food is delicious. Kick back, relax, play some games, & order the pulled pork sandwich with the onion rings on it. (& get some of those corn popper things, they're criminally good).

“Not the best BBQ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

BBQ is average, fried chicken is average. Overpriced, as is everything on Chincoteague. Fun environment with games to play while waiting for your food.
