Check-in was fine, and upon arrival at my room I found that the room seemed VERY nice. HOWEVER, when I went to lay down on the bed, I found multiple long hairs from previous guests on multiple pillows. I am all for not having to wash things that don't get touched or used, but COME ON people! That's disgusting! ALL BEDDING needs to be changed out COMPLETELY, whether the maids think they've been used or not! That's just gross, and a TERRIBLE first impression! After calling the front desk, guest services promptly delivered replacement pillow cases, but without any apologies. The varied pillows were nice. Two different types of firmness. The beds here seem fine at first, but after sleeping on them - or trying to, I would rate the beds at VERY FIRM to HARD. In the morning, both of our backs were just aching from all the tossing and turning at night, trying to get comfortable. UGGggh!
In the morning, arriving at the breakfast room very hungry after a long night of 'working out' some attempted sleep on the bed, and in anticipation of a great meal, I found numerous issues that caused me to walk out with one more disappointing experience. I made a waffle, however, without any cooking spray at the waffle makers, I literally ended up tearing the waffle apart trying to get my waffle out of the cooking iron. I then found out that this motel seemed to stock no butter for anything eaten at breakfast. It almost seemed to be a strange, policy-like decision for this motel. There didn't even seem to be a place for it at the breakfast bar! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!???? I was pissed! I was literally seconds from stomping out to the grocery store to buy some for the guests and myself! I have never experienced this kind of oversight at a motel! When I asked about it, the staff person simply replied in a matter-of-fact tone that there was no butter. Again, no apologies. The way he said it, sounded like he was used to telling people this. I'm hoping this place just ran out of butter. In the USA, butter is a STAPLE of nearly every breakfast. Management here, however, did nothing to attempt to remedy the situation. If I were the manager I would be completely embarrassed at such an oversight, and obvious miscalculation. I would have at least had someone run to the store and get some butter to cover breakfast for my guests until I had the chance to order more! Nope. Not here. Because of this error(or policy decision), all waffles, bread, toast, and sandwiches all had to be eaten dry. Topping that off, they had no cream cheese at all for their bagels - the only other bread I could have eaten here for breakfast. And of course, I could not substitute butter for cream cheese on my bagels for obvious reasons that I just mentioned. As I left disappointed, I had to drop my plates and garbage on top of the trash can, since the breakfast staff decided for whatever reason to pay no attention to it. It was completely full, overflowing out of the can despite there only being about 8 people eating at breakfast while I was there. It did not seem busy at all. I was watching the activities of the wait staff, and they did not seem too overwhelmed to have at least taken care of the trash - since they weren't bogged down refilling THE BUTTER!
