“What a Perfect Day!”

Charlottesville

The four of us found this company on the web, and I was impressed with the prompt reply to my email asking about open dates. We were only going to be in the area for a couple of days and not only did Erika and Chris give us lots of input on which wineries we would be visiting, they also helped us pick a place to stay. We chose downtown so we would not have to drive around.

They picked us up right on time, and we had a blast! We broke the record - tasted at five wineries. The lunch is wonderful WHAT a presentation! White linen tablecloth and napkins, silver, all freshly prepared, and more than any of us could finish.

We were well received at the wineries - they obviously like these people. One even gave the birthday girl a free wine glass. Erika even got us into Blenheim Vineyard, where David Matthews is the silent partner. Our tasting was conducted by the winemaker, Brad McCarthy who was absolutely wonderful, not only telling us about his wines but general history of the area as well.

During the tour they made sure to point out where Monticello and Ashlawn were for our outing the next day, and then they dropped us off back at our hotel, full, content, and happy!

And best of all - the price is all-inclusive and clearly indicated on the website. We recommend this heartily!

The Cabin at Kincora was a great rustic hideaway. I needed to relax and escape Charlottesville for a few days. I heard about this bed and breakfast from a friend who had just returned from a weekend there with his wife. His experience was just as nice as mine. I would check this place out before any, and it's only 5 minutes away from Keswick Hall, so you can enjoy the same serenity and beauty for at least $100 a night LESS!

Charlottesville was wonderful! The kids saw a pouppet show at The Old Michie Theatre on the downtown mall and homemade ice cream at Chaps which kept them happyso we could do some window shopping and relax. AlbemarleKids deserves all the credit for an awesome trip - what a great resource!!! We planned using the web site and when we got there found a print version as well. Thanks to their organization, we were also able to hit a local festival and miraculously, find cloth diapers in a pinch, and time our trip through Monticello for when there would be a hands-on family tour (talk about avoiding potential disaster - antiques and little kids don't mix). AlbemarleKids is a great resource for families visiting Charlotteville-Albemarle which is just a fabulous place to visit with kids!
