“Jefferson would have loved it !!!”

Inn at Monticello

This Inn is one of the most enchanting I have seen. It is beautifully decorated in the Jeffersonian style and very quiet. The proprietors Carol and Bob are charming and helpful. The breakfast was very nicely presented and very good. One may walk from the Inn at Monticello via a forest trail directly to Jefferson's Monticello. Also nearby are the homes of President Madison , President Monroe and several vineyards. This is an ideal spot for those who wish to experience American History and relax.

This review is long overdue! Sorry Bob and Carolyn. My husband and I stayed at the Inn back in January for 3 nights for our anniversary. We dropped the kids off in Richmond and drove out to the Inn and that's when we began one of the nicest weekends we've had in a loooonnng time! We were greeted with a glass of wine, a warm fire and a cute button nose. Rudy, the sweet mascot that looks like Toto. The Inn is beautiful, cozy, warm, inviting and relaxing. More than the comforts of home! We went up to our room, the Blue Room, and collapsed on the puffy white linen bed. The room was so quaint, felt like we stepped back in time until you opened the closet to find soft, luxurious white robes. Every morning we woke to gourmet breakfasts, great soft music (always playing) and good cups of coffee by the living room fire. Bob and Carolyn are so sweet and generous. Loved talking with them while we took over their living room. It was a tough decision to stay in the Inn all day or go see all the great places in Charlottesville. Jefferson's Monticello is a must. Fascinating man. At last our trip was over, and we had to go back to reality, but my husband and I have not stopped talking about our whole experience. I would highly recommend the Inn at Monticello!!!!

A great location...very close to Monticello, walking and biking trails. A fantastic getaway for any reason. Owners were very personable, friendly and inviting. So glad we brought our bikes but wished we brought at frisbee to play in the beautiful front yard. Rooms were great, and we were very happy there were no TV's in our bedroom. We would definitely stay there again...

The customer service was excellent and we especially enjoyed the company of the pet dog "Rudy". He was so adorable!

We woke up every morning with the smell of fresh brewed coffee, jazz music, and homemade breakfast. The hosts were very nice and it was truly a "Southern Hospitality Experience".

Pay attention to the details of the inn, it has lots of replica and uses the same decor as the real Montichello!!!

As the "trip planner" on a recent trip with my two sisters, I was looking for, and found, a charming Southern B&B. I have stayed in many B&B's in the States and abroad and I rate this property as one of the best. From the front porch, we entered the large open foyer/living/dining with hardwood floors, area rugs, and colonial design. Our hosts, Bob and Carolyn were not only helpful and informative but also charming and accommodating. We were treated to afternoon wine with cheese and crackers and warm cookies on our return from dinner. The hearty homemade breakfast consisted of a vege-cheese omelet, sausage, fresh fruit, and a cinnamon waffle with warm Vermont maple syrup plus juice and coffee. Our two rooms were quite lovely, with authentic period decor and designer bath. We will long remember the quiet ambiance of this lovely Southern home.
