“Perfect B&B Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2010

We stayed at the Foxfield for a babymoon. So if you are looking for the perfect romantic , quiet getaway, the Foxfield Inn B&B must be your top choice. With a warm smile Dan and Kathryn welcomed us to their home. From the spacious room with fireplace and four-post bed to the jacuzzi tub for two this room was perfect. We called ahead and even had chocolate covered strawberries provided. Upon check-in they gave a tour of the inn and provided a wealth of knowledge of the area to include attractions and places to eat. The gourmet breakfast of spinach and ham poached eggs left us wishing they had lunch and supper as well. The only negative, we didn't have enough time for more than one night. Thanks Dan and Kathryn for a warm and pleasant stay. The next time we are in Charlottesville yours is the only B&B we will consider.

Stayed here in April for a romantic getaway. Was like staying in a really cozy/spacious guest bedroom at a friend's home. Bathroom w/jacuzzi was great, they leave bath salts and a candle with lighter, nice touch. You have until 11 pm to use the whirpool tub then are asked not to (as to not disturb other guests from the sound, I think). Breakfast was SO delicious, could hardly move after third course. Dan, part of husband-wife team who run the inn, serves and chats with guests during breakfasts, he's really nice. He and wife Kathryn are great with dinner advice, city tips, anything you need to know, they quickly offer to help. Inn has a great outdoor space, enjoyed the hammock with my husband and screened-in gazebo was tranquil. Turndown service makes returning after dinner nice, they clean up and leave chocolates on the nightstand. Walls are a bit thin, so kept convo hushed and could hear guest next door clearing throat as if he was in our room. The gracious hospitality, yummy breakfast, comfortable room made up for it. Definitely recommend for a couple of day's stay.

My wife and I were in VA on a trip from the west coast. We read about the Foxfield inn online and decided to check it out. This was, by far the best B&B we've ever stayed at (and we've traveled all around the world.) The owners were kind, helpful, had a great attention to detail, and the location, rooms, and garden were all spectacular. In fact, the only thing that we could have improved on was if we had more time to stay with them longer!
We will definitely be back to stay again.

Our recent three night stay at the Foxfield Inn was perfect in every aspect. Dan and Kathryn were friendly and informative hosts. It was a delightful surprise to wake up each morning and discover what Kathryn had prepared for breakfast! The Inn was beautiful, comfortable, and clean. We felt relaxed the moment we arrived and look forward to returning in the future.

My wife and I were in town to go wine tasting and decided to stay here because of all the sparkling reviews. The Foxfield Inn did not disappoint. Everything about the inn was fantastic: the setting was beautiful, the room was elegant, the breakfast was delicious, and of course the innkeepers, Dan and Kathryn, so incredibly hospitable. We were definitely sad to only be able to stay one night, but we will be back! There is more wine to be tasted!

We wanted to tour Monticello and this B & B drew our eye because of the #1 B & B rating in America 2008. We haven't stayed in many B & B’s, but I agree this one is the best! Not only because of the furnishings, but also because of Dan & Kathryn's particular attention to detail and hospitality. The breakfast meals--I say meal because of the 3 courses :)--were quite tasty! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will stay there again should the occasion arise. Thank you again Dan & Kathryn!

Fabulous rooms. The Inn Keepers made us feel like family and the breakfast was one of the best meals that I have ever had. Only two hours away from DC, a great get away from the hustle and bussle. We had such a wonderful visit that we plan to make this a yearly experience.
