Although UVA was moving in the freshmen and the UNC women's soccer team was at the hotel, the experience was great. the hotel staff was on top of my check-in. This was a great experience and i have found my hotel of choice when in town.

Excellent Hotel. Quite and clean. No problems. Real close to Thomas Jefferson home Monticello. Great dining close to hotel. Had a great stay and a wonderful staff to take care of us. I have come to expect and appreciate the great service I receive when I stay at a Hilton Garden Inn.

This hotel is only 3-4 miles from downtown but in a beautiful setting. Great walking trails right behind the hotel near the hospital. Front desk is very friendly and helpful. They have preprinted directions to all major attractions. Make sure you make time to see Monticellio and the downtown historical area.

3.5 stars.

This hotel is very close to the hospital. We were unfortunately here due to a family members emergency and needed to be near the hospital. The staff could not have been nicer and we actually got a cheaper rate due to the fact that we needed to be near the ICU. Quiet and clean room with a mini-fridge.

We stayed here for one night based upon Trip Advisor reviews, and it was very nice, pretty standard for what we would expect for Hilton Garden Inn. The location is great for visitors to Monticello, and since it is in a really nice area of town, lots of restaurants and things to choose from. This property has the advantage of being adjacent to a large professional park, so there is a great walking trail, pond, etc.

Two small negatives. The front desk made a big deal of pointing out that the beds are adjustable firmness; we did everything short of tipping the bed upside down to find a way of doing this, and couldn't find any clues. At that hour, I honestly didn't feel like waiting for someone to come up and show me how to adjust the bed. Honestly, I would rather just have the awesome beds from Hampton; after the front desk person told me about the adjustable quality, it made me much more aware of just how uncomfortable the bed was. Perhaps some sort of a card on the nightstand letting guests know how to adjust the firmness?

The second really has nothing to do with the hotel. I would encourage anyone who is going to area restaurants and such to map out their route BEFORE leaving the hotel. We found that the GPS kept cutting on and off based upon reception (from two different cell companies). I'm assuming it's just the topography, but the area around the hotel is EXTREMELY dark at night, and the roads very poorly marked for those who aren't familiar with the area. We drove for almost 40 minutes to get back to the hotel from a restaurant that was only a few miles away, and found no places to stop for assistance/directions on that entire route.

We had a suite, and it was very nice. We enjoyed having separate bathrooms. Everything was spotless. The ergonomic chair at the desk was great! It was easy to connect to wireless. Great view of the lake with swans. Plus, the Martha Jefferson hospital is just up the hill. It's been named the most beautiful hotel in America, and it's also good reassuring for travelers to have it nearby!

We spent two nights at this hotel while visiting attractions in the Charlottesville area. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. A major plus for us was the ability to use the Hotel's shuttle bus to take us to two different restaurants during our stay.
