“Best Indian? or Only Indian?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Went here on a Friday and they had two waiters for the entire place. Two very slow waiters. Took a long time to get service and they did not bring my drinks until after the food arrived and I asked were the heck my drink order was. Food was OK, I have had much better (and worse). Portions were good and it was hot (temperature) but I ordered medium spice and got buttermilk level spice. Not what I ordered.

The naan is good and the prices are correct but the service needs to step up their game at least one level if not too. We would not return, too many other places to try.

“great food, terrible service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

The food was the shining light at this cute Indian restaurant, however the service almost undid the whole experience. The server never explained the menu, checked back with us, or offered dessert or after dinner drinks. On the positive side, the food was outstanding and will go back and hope for a better server.

Everytime we visit Charlottesville from DC we try to make it to Milan's. The food has always been great, never disappointed.

“Top of the Line Indian Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

This restaurant has the finest and most consistent Indian food anywhere this side of Richmond. My wife and I most recently came for a weekday lunch buffet (8.95 per person). The buffet is stocked with small and often refreshed dishes - well balanced between vegetable and meat selections. The chicken jal freize was excellent, as was the dal makhani (black lentils and kidney beans), and baingan bharta (eggplant). The lentil soup was good - a bit peppery and could use a little more ginger, though. The chai tea is well made, and the service was excellent as always; dishes are cleared regularly during the meal. Be sure to ask about the frequent diner program for which you can sign up online (no charge). You can trade accumulated rewards into percentage discounts or free food. Only hiccup was that we were seated at a booth that was unstable and had to move. A small glitch in an otherwise excellent meal.

“Nice place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

I had their buffet and it's really good. The waiters were very polite and nice. I would recommend this place for lunch.
