The Ivy Inn seems to be a former private house that has been converted into a charming restaurant. We were seated into a room upstairs that fitted well our group of nine. We were served by very friendly members of staff. All were happy with their choices from the menu which is a bit heavy on the red meats. My foie gras starter was very good, perhaps even a bit too smooth for my taste. But my bison main was excellent. I had never eaten bison before, and I was surprised how gentle it tasted. Just a hint of the game that I had expected. Some of the wines on their list are very good, but beware, others are outrageously marked up.
