Owner description: Boutique winery located on Thomas Jefferson's and Philip Mazzei's 1774 vineyard sites, one mile south of Monticello. We produce nationally recognized wines from classic varietals. Tours & tastings daily. Family owned for three generations, Jefferson Vineyards has been creating quality wine for over thirty years and is considered a pioneer of the Virginia wine industry. We are equally proud of our land, which was the first estate to have been put under conservation easement in the county of Albermarle. We welcome you and look forward to your visit.

“Love it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

We have visited Jefferson Vineyards twice now and we have loved it each time. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The price of the tasting is reasonable and you get to keep your glass. The wines are super tasty and are fairly inexpensive. And the grounds are beautiful and provide so many fantastic views of the countryside.

“Dan's the man!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I stopped in Jefferson which we had visited before but this trip was made by Dan the man, our pourer. He was so enjoyable and engaging, we laughed a lot.

“Enjoyed the wine, disappointed at limited tour opportunities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

We squeezed in a stop here and were super glad we did. The wines were excellent (especially compared to another nearby winery we had visited). The glass is plain, but it is a nice glass. Tasting is $10, which is a bit high, but you do get to taste about 10 wines. The tasting area isn't huge, and it was crazy busy when we were there, but they did their best to accomodate everyone. I really wanted to tour this winery, but the tours are only offered at limited times during the day and we could not make those times work around our busy trip. Worth the stop, even if it is just for a tasting.

“Good Wines in a Nice Setting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

We joined about 20 or so guests at a wine tasting. The hosts were knowledgeable and and wines were good. What's not to like.

“Not worth it!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

The tasting was expensive ($10) and the free wine glasses were NOT the ones with the winery logo but just plain. I felt gypped! More importantly, the wine was not very good - each one had promise that wasn't fulfilled - not robust enough or deep enough or flavorful enough. Very disappointing.
